About the adventure
Call from the Deep is a massive nautical sandbox campaign where your characters will form a crew to investigate a massive surge in piracy as hundreds of crews are being gathered under the banner of a single leader. At the same time creatures from under the surface of the seas are rising up as well, attacking ships and shore dwellers alike. What to Expect: Epic Nautical Exploration – Chart a course through perilous waters and forgotten isles. Naval Combat – Engage in strategic ship-to-ship warfare and intense boarding actions. Cosmic Horror – Confront the secrets and madness that lie in the deep. Dynamic Storytelling – Every player choice affects the fate of the coast and the crew. Your ship will be your home base, HQ and Bastion with downtime provided for character interactions, crafting, etc.

About me
Greetings, fellow travelers, my name is Leland and I am a Storyteller and Game Master with experience in TTRPG's, Live Action Role Play and writing. Thanks so much for checking out my profile and considering me to be your GM: whether you are a beginner at sitting down at a TTRPG table, or the most grizzled of veterans pulled in for one more "last job" I look forward to making a memorable experience with you! For me the passion for gaming started back in jr. high, over twenty years ago. I loved how much more immersed and interactive a roleplaying game was compared to the board games and video games I grew up playing. The love for the hobby followed me into university where I created a school sponsored organization celebrating all types of gaming and dedicated to bringing together a community of folks passionate to engage! Since then, I've helped tables as a GM to develop that same community aspect. A place where you don't just show up and leave on time like some 9-5 job, you're here to make memories with some awesome players who love the game as much as you. No matter who you are or what you believe, let's have fun together and see our heroes in exciting action against mighty foes! Can't wait to see you at the table!

Creating your character
Characters can be developed and finalized during or before Session 0, with the following parameters: -Use the linked DND Beyond Campaign to create your characters, which I will upload into Foundry. -We are using the 2024 ruleset, with backwards compatibility for expanded rules content. All WOTC content is allowed, 3rd party or partnered content must be approved before it can be used. -Abilities set using Point Buy, HP set to Fixed, Leveling set to Milestone. Starting Equipment or average gold buy for gear -Characters will begin at Level 1, expecting to end the campaign at Level 15 During Session 0 we will go over some unique characteristics to your character as well as discussing your goals and backstory. Your character should have goals for the future as well as connections to others, NPC's, your fellow PC's, etc.
Still very early in the campaign! Just completing the prologue and the party is still in the process of securing their ship. Very good time to join! Current Party Level: 4 Jissa - Shadar-Kai Gloomstalker Ranger Brother Jericho - Goliath Warrior of Mercy Monk Ishka - Lizardfolk Berserker Barbarian Ronan Quill - Human Trickery Cleric Baptise - Elven College of the Moon Bard

How Leland Palmer creates a safe table
Prior to session 0 I will forward an RPG consent checklist, which will allow me to curate your experience and avoid sensitive topics. During that session we can discuss specifics further and help to facilitate everyone's enjoyment. The most important tool for safety is communication and I am open before, after and between sessions to address any concerns or opportunities.
