About the adventure
Welcome to Waterdeep, The City of Splendors, where fortunes are won and heroes are made. Or where one will lose it all and live to become the villain of an age. You are freshly arrived in the city and have just booked lodgings at The Yawning Portal, the place of myths and legends, when a cloaked figure approaches you with a job offer.... This game is going to start in Waterdeep, following Dragon Heist and Dungeon of the Mad Mage, but with a heavy amount of home brew to the story and other side modules from sources like Tales from The Yawning Portal and Keys to the Golden Vault thrown in. The game will be built and run around the characters in the party, so if they encounter the story in the module, great. If not, then there are other adventures to be had within the city. This game will be for new and experienced players, so experience is not necessary. You will start at level one and the game will be modified to take you as high as level twenty.

About me
Please come in, have a seat, may I offer you a beverage? Welcome to my table, where the story never goes where anyone intends it to. I am a storyteller first and foremost, and players are the reason for the story. My games are a balance of combat and roleplaying, with a focus on integrating player back stories into the game. The three pillars of a game are encounters, role play, and exploration, and I try to bring a balance of all three to the table. More often than not, improv will take over my creative brain and those are the moments my players tell me are the best ones during the game. I started running games five years ago after I played at a table that left a bad taste in my mouth. And I am not talking about the coffee, it was a rough game. My spouse turned to me and said how surprised they were that I had never run a game, despite playing for over twenty years. A few weeks later, I started running games online for friends and family. I write campaigns, run my favourites, and generally have three or four games running at a time. I didn't know how much I would love sitting behind the screen and watching the players interact with the world I had laid out, but I regret not running games sooner. It's the best seat in the house.

Creating your character
Character creation will be done in Session Zero as a group. Discussions will be had on Discord leading up to session zero, but stat generation and character building will be done in that session.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a reliable headset and microphone and access to web browsers for the VTT and for the character sheets. You will need access to Discord and log ins for Roll 20 and for DnD Beyond.
What Lee brings to the table
I will provide a discord server, the virtual table top, and character sheets in DnD Beyond. Depending on table preference, the table top will either be foundry or Roll 20, all character sheets will be done via DnD Beyond, and either Zoom or Discord. Text discussions will take place via Discord.

How Lee creates a safe table
There will be a session zero where you will create your character, meet the other players, and we will go over game expectations and safety tools. Every table is different and has different needs.
