About the adventure

In the world of Ætherion, the land below is lost—buried beneath centuries of storms, ruin, and aetheric fog. Civilization survives among the clouds, scattered across massive floating islands that drift through the skies on currents of arcane wind. These skylands vary wildly: some are lush and teeming with strange aerial beasts, while others are jagged industrial hubs brimming with steamworks and forge-engines. Sky ships rule the heavens—massive vessels powered by Æther engines, wind spirits, and lost pre-Cataclysm tech. Merchant guilds, pirate clans, noble houses, and militant sky-knight orders all vie for control of the trade routes and the vital ley lines nexuses that power their floating realms. The player characters belong to a crew—perhaps mercenaries, exiles, scavengers, or idealists—whose ship sails the storm-wracked skies in search of treasure, truth, or freedom. Their journeys take them across islands forgotten by history, into the ruins of fallen sky-civilizations, and face to face with monstrous sky leviathans and ancient relics of godlike power.

About me

Love TTRPGs, exploring new worlds, watching adventures unfold telling or telling stories? Me too! I've been a Game Master for over 20 years with countless adventures and campaigns under my belt. My current favorite game is Fabula Ultima, though I have a fascination with Monster of the Week. I have run campaigns in Dungeons and Dragons, Monster of the Week, Blades in the Dark, Star Wars, Shadowrun and many more. I love to mix fantasy, science fiction, horror and mystery into my games but the most important part thing to know is that having fun making character stories are most important aspect of gaming for me.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be made during session 0. Players should also bring ideas for world building as Fabula Ultima is all about how characters interact with the world.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Things you need: a mic, discord and a web browser. A fair attention span and a good attitude will go a long way to making sure everyone has a good time. Webcamming is allowed, but not necessary. Dice can be rolled in Owlbear rodeo but if you want to roll them by hand please be ready to show your work.

Safety

How Nick - Dork Fortress creates a safe table

This game is designed to be an enjoyable experience and it will not sacrifice one players experience for the good of the story. There are lines that will not be crossed. No sex, sexism, slurs racial or otherwise, and the only hate that will be allowed is for the monsters and enemies you face.
