If you want to be in a campaign, a _real_ campaign, something unique and special, then you've found the right DM. Your backstory matters and the adventures are full of fun and freedom, where the players are driving the action more than a railroaded plot. Years of experience and real passion for the setting and story are present here. There are alot of DM's out there that will run you through one of 5e's various hardcover adventures, and that's fine.
