About the adventure

Join the Immolating Wizard Festival – A D&D 5e One-Shot Adventure! Enter the wildest magical festival of the century, the Immolating Wizard Festival! This surreal event in the scorching Eternas Arena is a spectacle of arcane artistry, bizarre magical displays, and endless revelry. Immolating Wizard is Burning Man with a magical twist—massive, animated art installations, eccentric NPCs, enchanted music, and the most mind-bending festival games in all of Ezra. Led by the powerful and enigmatic Technomancer, Tonitus Ezephree (TonEz), the festival promises thrills, bizarre encounters, and magical mayhem. But beneath the fun lies a mystery. Festival-goers are disappearing, enchanted crystal tablets called Crystabs are pulling attendees into mesmerizing illusions, and rumors swirl about TonEz’s dark agenda. What to Expect: Explore a Chaotic, Magical Festival: From paper dragon fights in sandstorms to giant pinwheels singing Orcish drinking songs. Meet Eccentric NPCs: Mingle with flamboyant bards, fire-loving dwarves, and mystical fortune-tellers. Test Your Skills: Take on quirky festival games or join the various competitions to win enchanted trinkets. Mystery & Intrigue: As the festival goes on, something dark stirs beneath the festivities. Whether you’re here for a one-time experience or want to dive into the full series of one-shots, the Immolating Wizard Festival is the perfect chance to revel in the weird, the magical, and the unexpected. Come for the magic, stay for the mayhem!

About me

I'm currently a House DM at The Kobold Lounge, where I run 3 homebrew campaigns for adults, as well as an introductory game for kids and another for teens. I started with a weekly game at my house. Shortly after I learned to play, I had to move. To keep up with my new hobby, I found and joined ahome game that was posted online. It was a terrible experience. Nobody at the table was having fun except for the DM, who delighted in playing against his party. His players looked and sounded bored, almost miserable; I never went back. Instead, I decided to start my own game with one goal: to make sure everyone has fun! -- If money is an obstacle, please DM me. I care more about us having fun than making money. I put a lot of effort into becoming the DM I am today, I make immersive, creative content that literally over a hundred players have loved & that's why I'm here. I'd like to make a living doing this, but I care about my players & that's never going to change.--- I started running my first homebrew D&D campaign in 2016. Since then I've engaged in collaborative storytelling with a ton of amazing players. I enjoy being a Sandbox DM, and I love players with unique ideas they want to try. My tables, physical and virtual, are the place to try out that crazy character idea or homebrewed subclass. I want to DM on StartPlaying to reach a wide player base, bring people together to have a blast, and provide opportunities for players everywhere to participate in my games.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters should be level 12, roll 4d6 and drop the lowest die for stats, rerolling ALL 1's. I have virtually no restrictions on character building. I love and encourage unique PC ideas. I had a player who was a sentient, haunted amulet, worn by a goose & it still makes my players laugh to talk about.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I will have some premade characters for anyone that just wants to hop in. A dndbeyond account is necessary, as well as Discord. A familiarity with 5e rules is great but in no way required. I LOVE HAVING NEW PLAYERS AT MY TABLES.
