About the adventure
📍 Welcome to Silvertail Academy of Arcane Arts Nestled on the haunted edge of Savannah, Georgia—where the veil between the living and the dead runs thin—stands Silvertail Academy, one of the premier institutions for young witches and wizards. Known for its ancient oak halls, spirited faculty (in more ways than one), and elite Paranormal Auror track, Silvertail is a place of mystery, tradition, and ghost activity that never sleeps. 🕯️ It’s Your Fifth Year… And Something's Wrong You are 17 years old. A rising upperclassman, freshly returned to campus, ready to dive into spellcraft, broom duels, and midnight sneak-outs. But there's a chill in the air. A new professor has joined the staff—a celebrated Auror who mysteriously retired after hunting a dangerous darkcaster years ago. Whispers say he’s… changed. Stranger still, ancient wards beneath the school are flickering, and students are having disturbing dreams of something—or someone—buried in the deep. 👻 What You’ll Do *Attend magical classes, explore school politics, and master your chosen magical style *Belong to one of five unique Houses: Alligos, Orend, Rathmore, Artemis, or Dalia *Face strange hauntings and unravel ghostly secrets *Work together (or break the rules) to uncover the truth behind the decaying magic growing inside the school

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hey there, adventurers! My name’s Josh, and I’ve been crafting worlds, weaving tales, and leading parties through danger and drama since 2012. I started my GM journey with D&D 4th Edition, but my love of storytelling quickly expanded to include a variety of systems — D&D 5e, Kids on Bikes, Kids on Brooms, Marvel Multiverse RPG, and many others. My tables are all about story and character first. I’m a big believer in “roleplay over roll play” — the dice matter, sure, but it’s the decisions, dialogue, and depth of your characters that truly shape the world around them. I want every session to feel like an evolving story arc where your heroes grow, stumble, triumph, and leave a mark on the world — and on you as players. I don’t rely on voices, but my NPCs each come with their own quirks, personalities, and heart — because even the barkeep deserves to feel real. Whether we’re chasing eldritch horrors, unraveling a teen mystery, or facing down supervillains in the Marvel universe, I’m here to make sure the story feels alive, cinematic, and unforgettable. I’ve also had the pleasure of being an Action Ranger with Hunter’s Entertainment, running their narrative-rich systems (Kids on Bikes, Alice Is Missing, Outbreak: Undead, and more) for virtual conventions. Those experiences shaped my approach to GMing — immersive stories, emotional moments, and player-driven narratives are what I live for. If you’re looking for a GM who values collaboration, creativity, and storytelling that sticks with you long after the dice stop rolling, then I’d love to welcome you to my table. Let’s make something memorable together.

What Josh brings to the table
🧙‍♂️ Rules & Support – I’ll provide everything you need to play, from rules explanations to clarifications. While we’ll follow the system closely, the Rule of Cool absolutely applies—if it’s awesome and fits the story, I’ll try to make it happen. 🎠Immersive NPCs – While I’m not a master of voices, I do my best to make each NPC feel distinct, with unique personalities, motivations, and roles in the world. 🗺️ Maps & Mysteries – Explore a richly developed version of Silvertail Academy and haunted Savannah, brought to life with visuals, magical secrets, and eerie discoveries. ✨ Collaborative Magic – This is a shared storytelling experience. Your characters and choices will shape the world, the drama, and the outcomes in meaningful ways. 💬 Roleplay-Driven Gameplay – Kids on Brooms leans heavily into narrative and character interaction over combat. Expect emotional beats, mysterious twists, and personal growth to take center stage. 🎉 A Safe & Fun Table – Respect, inclusion, and fun are my top priorities. I’m here to foster a welcoming space where everyone feels safe to play and express themselves.

How Josh creates a safe table
Player comfort and safety are top priorities at my table. This game contains themes of magic, ghosts, death, body horror, decay, possession, and the supernatural, which may include: *Descriptions of blood, violence, and haunting imagery *Themes of mortality and corruption (e.g. possession, body horror, etc) *Elements of paranormal horror, including ghost encounters and cursed artifacts That said, I strive to make this a fun, respectful, and collaborative space for everyone. We’ll use the Lines & Veils tool in Session 0 to set clear boundaries, and I’m always open to revisiting these at any time. If something feels uncomfortable or goes too far in the moment, we’ll be using the X-Card system—just say the word, send a message, or drop an “X” in chat, and we’ll immediately shift or move on without explanation needed. This is a no-harm, all-fun environment, and I’m committed to working with players to ensure a story that’s thrilling, spooky, and emotionally engaging—but always within the boundaries of what feels safe and enjoyable for you.
