About the adventure

*Last Seats Available* The sovereigns of the City of Korvosa know well the Curse of the Crimson Throne: it claims that No ruler will ever die of old age, or leave an heir. Superstitions, right? But wait... the King is Dead! Long live the Queen! In the Varisian port city of Korvosa, the death of a beloved monarch leads to chaos, and only bold adventurers (that would be you) can hope to save the city from falling to the darkest tyranny. This campaign has a compelling plot, deliciously evil villains, and will take your characters from 1st to (at least) 15th level. This is the best-written campaign I ever Dm'd! In the Curse of the Crimson Throne Adventure Path, you will find urban adventure, deal with riots and anarchy, and fight organized crime, devils, even dragons! You will combat a plague, root out organized crime, and rescue political prisoners before escaping to the harsh badlands of the Storval Plateau, where only the friendship of the barbaric Shoanti and a weapon drawn from the haunted heart of a gothic castle can give you the means to return and depose the evil queen once and for all. This campaign has it all. Urban setting, exploration and travel in foreign, dangerous lands, intrigue, haunted castles and dragons, ancient prophecies, death cults and devils!

About me

Hey :) My name is Frollo, and I love being a GM. I have a relaxed GMing style, story-driven and focused on collaborative fun. I always customize and remix the campaigns I run, so players' choices matter and their stories shape the world. And you are welcome to sit at my table. Beginner, first-timer, veteran, LGBTQ+, introvert and extrovert. It's a safe space for everyone. I promise we will have fun and tell a fantastic story, with you as one of the protagonists. See, the thing is, I love stories. And I love TT Role-Playing Games because YOU get to tell AND live crazy stories. And EVERYONE at my table gets to express themselves, and dream up crazy new identities to play with. To me, TTRPGs are a celebration of creativity and fun. The best stories come from their characters, and that's YOU in a Role-Playing Game! I might be the Worst case of "Forever DM" you've ever seen, probably. I am from Italy, where I live, and I started playing TTRPGs a (very) long time ago, with a group of friends based around a our local game store - one of us actually worked in there. I might have played most RPGs ever published, once or twice. Or at least read them. Lately, I started to really, really like D&D 5E because it reached a great balance of fun, versatility and rules. It is also a very welcoming system for beginners. But in cases of emergency, I can "break the glass" and GM Vampire, Cthulhu, Cyberpunk and Pathfinder like there's no tomorrow.

Character creation

Creating your character

Will use 5E 2024. We will be starting at level 1, with Milestones advancement. You can use Point Buy OR Standard Array. This campaign will take your characters to the lofty heights of levels 14-15! I will provide a handy player's guide for character creation, and we will interweave your character's story and background in the plot of the whole campaign. I will assist you throughout character creation, and the guide should provide all the context you will need. In general, any kind of character should be fine in this campaign.

The current party

We are set to go, but anyone is welcome to join :) message me for options, any class or race combination that fits Faerun will be more or less fine.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please have a (free) D&D Beyond account. Please have a (free) Discord account. We will play online, using Discord and D&D Beyond's MapsVTT. Campaign and Discord Server Links wil be provided. You will find a bunch of lore content on the Discord Server

What Frollo_GM brings to the table

I will strive to provide a fun, immersive experience. I will run a customized, modified and adapted version of the campaign as written. Expect revamped, remade maps, and ambience music! I will interweave your character's background in the overarching story of the campaign, becasue I love doing that. I will assist new players during character creation, and provide a handy player's guide for character creation, to weave your character in the setting.

Homebrew rules

This Adventure Path (= campaign) was originally written for D&D 3.5 and later republished for Pathfinder 1E. I have remastered and converted the whole thing to D&D5E, so you can play it even if you don't want to switch to Pathfinder :) I will lift the whole region of Varisia and plop it in Faerun, keeping the lore untouched as much as possible, and connecting it to the Forgotten Realms setting.

Safety

How Frollo_GM creates a safe table

This campaign has a distinctly more adult vibe than your regular D&D content. Nothing extreme, and everything very manageable, but still. I am erring on the side of caution. Consent form (editable PDF); Session 0; Lines and Veils; and aftercare.
