Tensions ignite on Cressidium—drop in, suit up, and survive brutal urban combat in this tactical Lancer module for rookie pilots.
About the adventure
Operation Solstice Rain/Winter Scar is a high-stakes Lancer campaign set on the isolated planet of Cressidium, where political tensions threaten to erupt into all-out war. As rookie Union pilots, you’ll be thrust into intense urban combat as part of a daring rescue operation amid a volatile diplomatic crisis. The fate of nations hangs in the balance, and it’s up to you and your squad to survive and prove your worth under pressure. Every move matters — cover, positioning, and coordination can mean the difference between victory and getting torn apart. You’ll customise your mech, adapt to new threats, and push your limits as a squad. Whether you're a veteran tactician or just learning the ropes, there's room to grow, fail, and come back stronger. Each mission leaves a mark — on your pilot, your build, and the story you’re shaping. The setting leans into gritty military drama, espionage, and tense political maneuvering. You’re stepping into a world on edge — where alliances shift, and every decision comes with consequences. You’ll be making tough calls under fire, navigating power plays behind the scenes, and figuring out who you can really trust. Whether you’re following orders or writing your own, the story changes with you. If you’re into tactical gameplay, detailed mech customisation, and stories that mix personal choices with a bigger galactic conflict, this game’s for you. Whether you love military strategy, intense combat, or deep roleplaying, Operation Solstice Rain delivers an exciting and immersive experience every time.

About me
I’m a long-time nerd and storyteller drawn to games that reward planning, creativity, and cinematic moments under pressure. I first came to Lancer for its crunchy tactical combat, deep mech customisation, and rich sci-fi worldbuilding—and I stayed to craft missions where the stakes are real, and every choice counts. More recently, I’ve fallen in love with Mythic Bastionland, a poetic, rules-light system of knights, myths, and fading glories. It’s perfect for players who love immersive, character-driven storytelling in a world that remembers every failure and honors every sacrifice. What makes my games different? I design tightly focused encounters—whether on a war-torn colony or in a crumbling keep—that challenge players to think, collaborate, and act boldly. My stories reward smart planning, risky plays, and character growth—whether you're custom-tuning a mech or navigating the politics of a fractured realm. Games are run on FoundryVTT with full module support. Voice is handled through Discord.

Knows the Rules
Solun is great GM who excels in exploring the personalities of characters (both player and NPC). He also has a good understanding of the rules, allowing the game to run smoothly. Solun's best quality as a GM is his ability to immerse players in the narrative of the game and allowing them to feel like they're part of the world.
First time playing Lancer and Quiescent Solun was amazing at showing the ropes, keeping me updated even on potential mistakes on my builds, etc. He was a true badass GM when it came to pre/during/post areas of a DM/player relationship. They even went above and beyond injecting questions and adding moments of dread and levity. Amazing visuals that Foundry brings and he controls so well. Mech explosions are super cool and bullets running across the maps just look cool. Great DM. Highly recommend.
Quiescent Solun ran a fantastic Lancer game that struck a great balance between challenging mech combat, engaging story, and room for creativity. The fights were well-designed and made good use of the system without feeling overwhelming, and the narrative had enough structure and freedom to make our choices feel meaningful. He stuck to the rules in a way that kept things fair and consistent, but still allowed for clever player ideas when they fit the scene. With some light voice work and music to set the mood, the sessions always felt polished but never overproduced. All up, a really solid GM who knows how to run a tight, enjoyable game.
Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will take place before the first session to ensure we can dive straight into the action. New players are welcome, and I’ll guide you through the process step by step, whether it’s your first time with Lancer or you’re a seasoned mech pilot. Starting Level: Players will begin at License Level 0 (LL0), which is perfect for rookies just entering the field. Mech Creation: Your mechs will be created using https://compcon.app/#/ the free character builder tool for Lancer. This will make the process easy and efficient, as COMP/CON handles mech customisation and abilities. I’ll guide you through the process and make sure everything is set up before we start the campaign. Grab some artwork for your mech from this site https://retrogrademinis.com Tools: Characters and mechs will be imported into FoundryVTT using the Comp/Con json files for easy access to character sheets, abilities, and mechs. If you’re new to Foundry, I’ll guide you through it at the start of the session. Books and Resources: We’ll be using the Lancer Core Rulebook and any first party modules. No additional homebrew content will be allowed. I’ll make sure everyone has the tools and support they need to create a character that’s both fun to play and fully integrated into the world.

What Quiescent Solun brings to the table
As your GM, I’m dedicated to providing an immersive and engaging experience while staying true to the core rules of Lancer. Here’s what you can expect from my sessions: Character Voices and NPCs: I use character voices to bring NPCs to life and make interactions feel dynamic. Each NPC will have their own personality and distinct voice, helping to enrich the world and your experience. Background Music & Sound Effects: To immerse you fully in the setting, I’ll use atmospheric music and sound effects. Whether it’s the hum of your mech’s engines or the tension of an incoming attack, music and sound will adjust to match the tone of the moment, adding to the excitement. Narration and Immersion: Expect vivid descriptions and detailed narration to draw you into the world. I’ll ensure you’re fully immersed, with each scene coming to life in your mind, whether it’s a calm briefing or the chaos of an intense firefight. Tactical Combat: Combat will be highly tactical, with a focus on positioning, mech abilities, and teamwork. The rules as written will be followed closely, and I’ll make sure to provide guidance to ensure everyone feels comfortable with the mechanics. Your decisions in combat will have real weight, and every action counts. Rules as Written: While I encourage creativity, I tend to stick closely to the rules as written to maintain consistency and fairness. This ensures that the game runs smoothly, and all players are on the same page. If you’re ever unsure about a rule, I’ll make sure to clarify and explain it, ensuring everyone is comfortable with the mechanics. You can expect a balanced experience, where both your tactical decisions and narrative choices shape the outcome of the game. My aim is to provide a session where the mechanics and the story come together to create a compelling and immersive experience.

Safety
How Quiescent Solun creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort are top priorities in my games. I strive to create a space where everyone feels welcome, respected, and supported throughout the campaign. Here’s how I ensure that: Session 0 & Expectations: In the first session, we’ll have a Session 0 where we go over important topics like tone, themes, and boundaries. This will be a collaborative space to discuss what players are comfortable with, and I’ll make sure everyone is on the same page regarding the themes of the campaign (e.g., espionage, combat, political tension). We’ll also review any sensitive or potentially triggering content, so everyone knows what to expect. Aftercare: After intense or emotional scenes, I’ll make time for aftercare—a brief check-in at the end of the session to make sure everyone is okay and to address any lingering feelings. I’ll also encourage players to share their thoughts, concerns, or feedback at any point during the campaign, and I’ll be receptive to adjusting the game if necessary to keep the experience enjoyable for everyone. Ongoing Communication: I believe in open, respectful communication throughout the game. If anyone ever feels uncomfortable or needs a break, I encourage them to reach out, whether during a session or privately. Your well-being is my top priority, and I will always work to make the game a safe, enjoyable space for all players.
