About me
Hi👋, I'm Franc, better known as Golvin. I'd like to be your GM. While I mainly run D&D, Call of Cthulhu, and Alien RPG, my real pleasure is trying new modules and systems. (Cowboy Bebop RPG anyone?) Which has led me to a specialization in running one-shots, often including highly detailed handouts, pre-made characters, and other player aids. Golvin is PHENOMENAL. I've been playing with him for almost a year now. We just finished Strahd, my first time ever. We gave him some crazy antics to deal with and he made it all flow together beautifully. Wednesday has become my favorite day of the week. If you get the chance to game with him, go for it.

Golvin is one of the safest, hardworking, and respectful DMs I've ever had the fortune of having. I joined my first campaign with him give-or-take halfway through it and now, having finished it, I'm absolutely looking forward to many-more. Joined one of Golvin's games on a whim and was instantly hooked. Between being added in seamlessly and being welcomed by the party, it was such an amazing experience. I would recommend them to anyone looking to play DnD at any level.

The DM ran a fun, quick oneshot for me as a solo player. Even though I was using a premade, we were able to roleplay a bit of backstory for my character and her brother (played as an NPC). I had fun and the investigating portion was tense, interesting, and atmospheric. The DM moved efficiently through the storyline and it was an enjoyable and fast-paced ride!

I could not have picked a better GM for my first game in several years. I have always been the type of player who would come up with wild ideas and he did his best to accommodate many of them. As I continue to play the different Alien RPG games I will be staying with Golvin.

Creating your character
Use one of 5 pre-made characters or create your own level 1 characters. If you make your own, please follow the character creation guidelines below. (Must be completed prior to the session.) --- Character Creation Guidelines --- - Standard Array or Point Buy only. - D&D 2024 PHB only. GM's Note: I provide all content via Roll20. Those wishing to use D&D Beyond may do so as long as I see your rolls in Roll20. (Note: D&D Beyond fails to mark 2024 content as legacy outside of the PHB and DMG.)

Preparing for the session
To participate in the game, you will need: ✔️A Roll20* account (free), ✔️A Discord account (free), ✔️A microphone, ✔️A headset or quiet space (i.e. no background noise please). *Roll20 doesn't do well with touch screens.

How Golvin - One-Shot GM creates a safe table
After joining, players are sent my Line & Veils and ask for theirs in return. Which are then confirmed at the beginning of the session as part of a mini-session 0. During the game, if anything disturbs you, please tell me, leave an "X" in the chat, or privately message me. I will then remove the offending or skip past it. Likewise, if you feel the adventure is going in an unsavory direction but use an "N" instead. I will also check in if I notice anything is off.
