Dracaryn - Vaults of the Fallen Tuesday 3
In the wake of a shattered age, brave souls venture into cursed lands to unearth powerful and forbidden relics of lost a civilization.
About the adventure
In the world of Dracaryn, the gods are not distant myths—they are dragons. Colossal, divine, and eternal, the Dragon gods rule the fractured realms with elemental dominion. Each region bends to the will of its draconic god: fire-wreathed empires, glacial kingdoms of ice, storm-lashed archipelagos powered by ancient aether. But beyond the borders of these mighty dominions lies a forbidden frontier—the Shattered Lands. Once a thriving heart of civilization, the Shattered Lands were annihilated in the cataclysmic Dragon Wars, leaving behind a blighted, haunted wasteland cloaked in a choking magical fog known as the Miasma. No maps hold true here. Time and memory twist. The earth itself mourns. Yet something stirs beneath the ruin. Whispers speak of forgotten relics, the bones of ancient evils, and a darkness even the dragons fear—the return of the Old Gods, entities once worshipped in blood and shadow before the dragons cast them down. In this campaign, players take on the role of brave explorers, relic hunters, and forsaken heroes delving into a world abandoned by its gods. Unearth forgotten vaults, confront the echoes of fallen civilizations, and choose whether to preserve what's left of the world or burn it down for what lies beneath.

About me
Hi, I’m Fred, and I’ve been a Dungeon Master for 10 years, running strictly in person campaigns. I am partnering with Ashfall Studios, looking to spread my talents into digital formats. I strive to create a balanced mix of storytelling, combat, and exploration, making sure there’s something for everyone, whether you’re into intense roleplay, strategic combat, or just having fun with friends. I’m all about crafting a welcoming space where everyone can find what they’re looking for in a campaign, be it heroic moments, laughter, or emotional character arcs. My games blend lighthearted and serious tones, giving players the freedom to explore their characters in a world that responds to their choices. No matter your experience level, my table is all about having fun, making memories, and enjoying the journey together. So, if you’re up for a balanced adventure that offers a little bit of everything, let’s roll some dice and tell an amazing story together!

Fred has been an amazing guide for our journey through Barovia in the Curse of Strahd campaign. The sessions are fun and engaging with plenty of room for both role play and combat. Player backstories feel carefully woven in with the campaign, working with players to ensure a proper balance of surprise and consent. I appreciate that he's prompt and ready to play when the session starts. I would absolutely play at his table again.
Joined Fred’s Curse of Strahd campaign as a relatively new D&D player, and it’s been a great experience. I wasn’t expecting my character’s backstory to play much of a role in the module, but Fred found ways to weave it into the larger story, along with everyone else’s. He keeps the game engaging and makes sure each player has their moments. I’d recommend him as a DM and would gladly play in another of his campaigns.
Fred is funny, kind, well prepared for each session, and overall a thoughtful and incredible GM. I’ve been in his Curse of Strahd campaign since September of last year, and even though I went into it a complete D&D noob (played some Baldurs Gate 3 previously but that was about it), his kind approach to new players and willingness to explain mechanics when needed has made me feel welcome to the group. Additionally, the work he puts into storytelling week over week shines through. He always is prepared and able to think on his feet as needed during a session, while being flexible enough to allow for plenty of roleplay and character moments. HIGHLY recommend Fred to both new and experienced players!!
Fred is a fun DM to play with! He does a good job of putting in the characters back story into the leading story. He does a good job in my opinion of giving the players space to RP and balancing the Combat to keep it challenging but also not making it too hard. I have been having so much fun at the table with DM Fred! I would also recommend him to those that enjoy DM's that are good at story telling! DM Fred is very creative and be it from a description of the area to interacting with the characters, he pulls it off very well! Always feel drawn to the scene and what's happening! He is also a pretty nice DM to turn to if you are newer to DnD he handles teaching at the table rather well. He has a very calm energy and feels approachable!
Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will take place during Session 0 as a collaborative process with the rest of the party. This allows us to build strong connections between characters from the very beginning and ensure everyone’s story fits naturally into the world of Dracaryn. You'll have the chance to discuss your concepts, align your goals, and help shape the tone of the party together. We'll be using Roll20/DnD Beyond, which provides a streamlined, step-by-step process aligned with the D&D 5e system. This ensures that everyone is working from the same structure and makes the process smooth and accessible, especially for newer players. All characters will start at Level 1, and all stats and features will be determined through the D&D 5e character creation rules as outlined in the app. No outside tools or stat rolling are needed—everything you need will be built into the system. If there are any restrictions or recommended sources, those will be discussed during Session 0, but in general, please stick to official D&D 5e content as provided in the app. I’m happy to work with players to personalize characters, but all final approvals go through me as the GM to maintain balance and consistency in the story.

What DM Fred brings to the table
As your Game Master, I’ll guide you through an epic, character-driven journey in the world of Dracaryn, where your decisions shape the fate of nations, and the shadows of the past rise to challenge the future. My focus is on immersive storytelling, meaningful choices, and a world that evolves in response to your actions. Expect cinematic scenes, dynamic characters, and mysteries that unravel piece by piece as you venture deeper into the unknown. I use character voices, descriptive narration, and ambient music to create a vivid atmosphere at the table—whether it's the howling winds of the Everfrost Tundra or the crackle of dragonfire in a ruined stronghold. My goal is to draw you into the world and make each moment feel alive. You'll encounter NPCs with depth, motivations, and secrets, and you'll be encouraged to form relationships—whether alliances or rivalries—that carry weight. Combat is intense and intentional. While not every session is combat-heavy, when it happens, it's meant to feel dangerous, thrilling, and tactical. I lean into the Rule of Cool—if you describe an awesome, creative action that fits the scene and feels heroic (or tragic), I’ll reward bold ideas over strict mechanics. That said, the Rules as Written provide the foundation for fairness and consistency. I aim for balance: we respect the rules but aren't bound by them when the story demands something greater. Ultimately, I provide a collaborative experience where character growth, narrative arcs, and world impact take center stage. If you're here for unforgettable moments, deep lore, and the freedom to forge your own legend—welcome to Dracaryn.

How DM Fred creates a safe table
Creating a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment is a top priority in every game I run. This is a collaborative story, and everyone at the table deserves to feel heard, valued, and secure. To help support this, a Lines and Veils document will be shared before the campaign begins and will remain available at all times during play for easy reference. Players are encouraged to review it and add to it as needed—we’re all here to tell a great story together, and that includes knowing where the boundaries are. During Session 0, we’ll go over the tone of the game, character creation expectations, party dynamics, and, most importantly, our shared safety tools. This includes a discussion of Lines (hard limits) and Veils (fade-to-black subjects), themes players want to explore or avoid, and how to support one another both narratively and emotionally throughout the campaign. To support ongoing safety, I use the X, N, and O system—players can use digital signals or send me a private message during or after a session to flag any issues. Whether it's a moment of discomfort, a scene that’s pushing too far, or a need to pause, these tools are always respected, no questions asked. I also make it clear that I’m always available for private check-ins outside of sessions to address concerns, adjust content, or just to talk things through. Aftercare is something I take seriously, especially after emotionally intense scenes. I offer time to debrief, celebrate wins, and decompress—whether that’s a casual conversation after the session or a check-in before the next game. My goal is to ensure that every player feels comfortable, empowered, and excited to return to the table each time we gather.
