About the adventure
Spring in the city of Trye means bustling streets, busy universities, and expeditions into long-buried ruins. When a team of scholars disappears from a remote dig site, the University calls in a band of seasoned mercenaries—you. What starts as a simple recovery mission turns into a spiraling nightmare of corrupted researchers, smiling constructs, and whispering clocks that don’t seem to keep normal time. Something deep beneath the earth has awakened—and it's still building. In this 3–4 hour Dungeons & Dragons 5e one-shot for 5th–8th level characters, you'll uncover a ruined civilization’s eerie remnants, battle mechanical monstrosities powered by soul-bound timepieces, and make impossible choices as the line between man and machine begins to blur. With high-octane combat, dark humor, and clockwork horror wrapped in cinematic storytelling, this adventure is perfect for players who love intrigue, mystery, and action with real consequences. The Clockwork Kingdom is set in a unique, homebrew world steeped in forgotten magic and fractured gods. You’ll explore ancient technology far beyond the understanding of modern mages, investigate twisted ruins that defy reason, and clash with a force that rewrites biology and time itself. Whether you're here to smash monsters, solve puzzles, or dig deep into unsettling lore, there’s something in this story for you. This game is best suited for players who enjoy tactical combat, immersive storytelling, and the feeling of walking into something far bigger than themselves. If you like campaigns where mystery unravels into mayhem—and where your actions genuinely shape what happens next—you'll feel right at home in The Clockwork Kingdom.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Greetings, adventurers! I’m Patrick Batey, a seasoned Dungeon Master with over 20 years of RPG experience, crafting unforgettable stories and guiding players through worlds of mystery, magic, adventure, intrigue, peril, and wonder. At the heart of every campaign I run is a commitment to collaborative storytelling—your choices matter, your characters shape the world, and every session is an evolving narrative where the unexpected is always around the corner. Whether you prefer heroics, intrigue, or chaos, my goal is to create an immersive experience where every player feels deeply invested in the journey. I utilize Theater of the Mind, Roll20, and Discord, which also serves as our hub for roleplay, coordination, and out-of-game discussions. To bring my worlds to life, I also integrate original art, custom maps, and handcrafted lore that make each campaign feel unique and immersive. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a newcomer to the game, I tailor my sessions to create a welcoming, engaging, and unforgettable experience. Expect challenging encounters, meaningful character arcs, and a world that reacts dynamically to your actions. So gather your party, warm up your dice, and prepare for an adventure where your story takes center stage—because in my games, the only limit is your imagination.
