About the adventure
All your life you've heard of Bitkim Island's Enchanted Path and the magical Black Diamonds for which it is famous. Just one of those diamonds could change your life forever. If you're being honest with yourself, just getting out of your village would change your life forever! And to travel the Enchanted Path? Well, that would be legendary. By all accounts, the trading vessel you'll take to get there remains in port for 2 weeks. Plenty of time to get on the path, find a Black Diamond and maybe even battle a fearsome creature - pfft, if there are any! If nothing else, you'll have done something no one else you know has done, so why not? Wait, you don't get seasick, do you? This adventure starts at level 1, is perfect for beginners, full of beautiful places to find, quirky inhabitants to meet, and fantastical creatures to discover. The Enchanted Path hasn't been traveled in decades, so should you choose to adventure here, you may get to name the areas you uncover, the beasts you discover, and claim any riches you find. Most sessions are a lighthearted exploration of a forgotten region full of beings your character has never before seen. There are, however, big things happening in this world if you chose to follow those threads. Free Session Zero, This game will run 3 weeks on, 1 week off.

About me
I began playing D&D when my lifelong friend was struggling with some huge medical issues and I just wanted to keep her spirits up. When that game collapsed, I took up the mantle of DM and began running a home-brewed campaign with her and a bunch of strangers that has been going strong for 5 years now. Apparently, I'm the type of person who says, "Why not?" and jumps into the piranha-infested deep end without so much as a floatie. But it's all worked out for the best as I now have an extended family who loves to get together every other week to roll some dice and have a laugh or two. It was the best decision I've ever made. Now I have this mammoth world to play in that needs more adventurers just like you! New players are so very welcome.

Creating your character
I have a form in my Discord that you will use to send me 3 character race/class choices (i.e. Minotaur Bard). - Character sheets will be created in dndbeyond. - I encourage you to choose a “non-standard” species for this game (meaning other than human, elf, dwarf), but you are free to choose anything except a Construct/Warforged Race or Blood Hunter Class as they don't fit in this world. **** If all of that seems overwhelming, I have pre-made characters that you can use. Just let me know.**** There is more information on character creation in the discord channel and I am happy to walk you through it if necessary.
This game will run 3 weeks on, 1 week off.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before you begin playing, you’ll need to create the following accounts: ✅ D&D Beyond.com (free) ✅ Discord (free) ✅ Download the apps for both if you will be playing from your phone/tablet And then: ✅ Agree to my Rules ✅ Join the Discord Server You will also need: ✅ a working microphone Recommended: ✅ A camera. It's really great to your faces at the start, but cameras tend to go off after we get started. ✅ A notebook or other way to take notes for the session. You won't need dice - You'll roll right on D&D Beyond.
What Ams brings to the table
📖 Access to my source books on D&D Beyond 🎟 A private Discord server just for your group 🦉 Owlbear Rodeo for combat. 🗺 Beautiful (sometimes animated) maps & tokens purchased thru Patreon 💝 Tailor-made magic items for you to find 🧜🏽 An open world informed by your character's background 🎤 Recorded audio for each session with a game recap attached. I mostly stick to the 5e rules, though I have embraced a few of the latest rules, especially spells. For everything else, there is the Rule of Cool. If you are a RAW-style player, you probably won’t enjoy my style. I’m not a voice actor, but I try my best to make each NPC have their own personality though their Irish accent will slowly devolve into a southern one almost every time. 🤠
Homebrew rules
* Critical Hits automatically deal maximum damage (including any added die you would roll, like Sneak Attack for a rogue), PLUS your normal dice rolls and any modifiers. * Healing Potions: A character can spend a bonus action to drink a healing potion. Administering a potion to another character requires an action. Max amounts - no rolls * Feats: Characters gain a bonus feat at first level, however, I will the feat based off of the characters class/race. The rest are in the Discord Server

How Ams creates a safe table
To ensure everyone is on the same page before we begin, I start with a (free) session zero so that we can discuss the campaign and understand the type of game we are playing. Should you join the campaign after it has begun, we will have a 1-1 session zero before you begin playing. - I check in with each player privately every few games - I always stick around for about 10 minutes after each game so that we can debrief on the session, especially after something intense. - I address player conflicts head on and try to resolve them in a way that is best for the group. 🤺 There is no PVP unless you are controlled by a magical affect. 🚫 Please do not: - Create an evil character. - Eat humanoid creatures. - Harm/harass/bully/menace innocent townsfolk. - Steal unless your character has a purpose. - Cause large amounts of uncalled for damage and chaos in populated areas, e.g. blowing up a shop because the shopkeeper is annoying (NO), toppling a building on top of a monster (SURE) There will be consequences for “illegal behavior” (like stealing) if you get caught.
