To Dr. Strangelove: Thanks for Everything, Tabitha Newmutant

After the bombs fell back in 2077, we thought civilization was done for. But it turns out what doesn't kill you only makes you... weirder.

About the adventure

In 2077, the storm of world war had come again. In two brief hours, most of the planet was reduced to cinders. And from the ashes of nuclear devastation, a new civilization would struggle to arise. Join us on a weird, wild adventure in the radioactive wastelands of Fallout the Role Playing Game. Players will build high level characters, experienced denizens of the last city on Earth. Save desperate Settlements from certain doom, rediscover advanced technology from before the war, and forever change the shape of this new world. This campaign is set in Fallout: the Role Playing Game by Modiphius. It centers around a major city in North America, to be decided by the Party. It may involve factions and characters from various Fallout games, but we will be using those as a jumping off point, and not adhering strictly to any established canon. We'll be leaning more towards "Rule of Cool" approach. We will be simplifying certain elements of the game like scavenging and crafting so that we can spend less time on inventory management, and more on hijinks and shenanigans. If you don't already, make sure you have a login for Roll20 and DIscord.

About me

I love running games for my friends and want to meet new people. My ideal role playing game experience is one part puzzle, one part strategy, and one part silly. Obsessed with Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and pretty much anything set in space.

Tom was a great DM! He created a world with rich character then let us explore and choose our direction. He levered Roll20 tools to really emerge us with pictures, text notes, and fog of war.

I would highly recommend Tom as you’re next DM! He was very organized, provided a interesting story and and great at creating an immersive world for players to explore. He was good at balancing player independence with offering hint or help when necessary.

His games are sick. He makes the experiences fun and engaging. He also brings his NPCs to life with uniqueness, and his voice work is epic. I would recommend.

Character creation
Creating your character

Characters will be created after we've made certain key decisions about the world set up. Player Characters will start at Level 6, and create their character sheets on Roll20. The Fallout Compendium will be available, as well as some customized docs I've created to sort through all the various Perks.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

This game will be played on Roll20 and Discord. Make sure you have a log in for both. You are not required to have a webcam, though I highly recommend it. Video makes it easier for me and other Players to understand when a Player is talking.

What Tom brings to the table

I'll provide the imagery, both real and imagined, but this is a shared narrative experience. Tell me what your Character wants to do and describe how you'd like to do it, we roll and find out what happens. This campaign fully embraces the Rule of Cool.

Homebrew rules

More detailed elements like scavenging junk to use in crafting will be simplified, typically by replacing it with an Extended Test, with the difficulty tied to the overal difficulty of the task.

Safety
How Tom creates a safe table

It ain't fun unless it's fun for everyone. Let me know if anything bothers you in whatever dm you prefer to use. I like the X, N, & O system.
