About me
Hey I'm Storm! I started running D&D games a few years ago and instantly was hooked by how fun, creative and impactful these stories we create together can be. Now, running games for people is one of my biggest passions in life! In my games player experience is my #1 priority. Inclusivity and Safety are paramount at my table, so before starting a campaign we'll run through a Session 0 making sure everyone is on the same page and comfortable! I homebrew pretty much everything in my games, so if you have any idea for your character, or want to try mixing some abilities from different classes/races I'm always down to make things work. Plus, I can provide as much of a baseline for campaigns as needed, but will be primarily tailoring the story of the campaign to my players' backstories and motivations. While your decisions and actions certainly matter, if you play in one of my games the world will quite literally revolve around you! All kinds of players are welcome! I've dm'd for people who have never heard of d&d before, as well as people that have been playing and dm-ing for years. As far as DM Style, I definitely fall into the "Rule of Cool" archetype, where I tend to default to the rules as written, but if you come up with something really fun or interesting that'll certainly take priority. My sessions tend to be pretty Roleplay heavy as well, and even though I'm not the best at voice acting I definitely try to have lots of NPCs with fun and memorable personalities. Thanks for considering me, and I'm excited to maybe create a story together sometime! <3

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Inclusive
Creativity
World Builder
Almost all of my campaigns I've played have been with Storm! His imagination, dedication to world building, and ensuring that each of his players have a positive, safe, and fun environment to play in is what makes him a fantastic DM. He loves bits, and always allows his players to drive the game and direct it in the direction that feels right. If you're looking to get into D&D, or if you're a seasoned player looking for an inclusive group, look no further. You've found your guy! Just make sure you don't ask him for a French accent. ;)
Storm was my DM for over a year across two wildly different campaigns. He is a dynamic DM that is incredibly open to adapt to player preferences. Before our games began he asked me and the other players about the type of campaign we wanted. And he checked in with us throughout the campaign to hear our feedback. This extended to gameplay as well- he was incredibly nimble to our sometimes chaotic narrative shifts. He makes room for heartfelt character moments and naturally brings in moments of levity and humor. The worlds Storm created for our campaigns had a lot of depth. We never felt like we had reached the edge. And I still think about some of the story arcs our characters had. If you love a good playlist to set the mood ~Storm has you covered with a ton of tunes to bring you in. All in all -Storm is the whole DM package :)
Storm introduced me to DnD and was my first Game Master. He helped me with inspiration for my first character, walked me through every step of the game, and was endlessly patient with calculating hit points, abilities, etc. We played three campaigns with him and each one was fun, different, and engaging. He was supportive of all decisions we made, even when we derailed him from events he had spent weeks planning, and was fair and reasonable with our interactions. He puts palpable effort into his NPCs, world building, villains--even playlists for specific situations and places. He breathes life into the environments he creates for the players and makes everyone involved feel like they are meaningful to the game. I can't recommend him highly enough!
Wowowowow!!! I literally cannot say enough good things about Storm as a GM. He led my first ever DnD campaign and boy, he is perfect. He is a stellar storyteller with unbeatable improv abilities. He knows all DnD lore and keeps every session so interesting. There has never been a session that I have left feeling indifferent. Storm as a person is also just amazing. He’s welcoming, kind and hilarious. Could not recommend him more!!!
Character creation
Creating your character
For character creation we'll start this together during the Session 0, and then I like to meet with each player individually to iron out character details so I can tailor the story to what you want to experience. For stats players can roll for them, and if they roll poorly I have a set number of stats they can choose instead if they prefer. And all of this will be through D&DBeyond, since I've already made several custom Classes/Subclasses to fit this setting, and will make new ones to fit whatever superpower you choose!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A Webcam and Microphone are required for this campaign since we'll be using Discord, but using your Phone camera/mic works too! Plus, making a D&DBeyond account beforehand would be great, but if they are unfamiliar I can assist with account creation.
What Storm brings to the table
We will use D&DBeyond for this campaign, and for combat it will be a mix of OwlbearRodeo for custom battle maps, and theater of the mind. Each session I'll also be playing background music to fit the mood for each scene. As far as what to expect from me as the DM, I will definitely be doing all sorts of silly voices and impressions for the characters, to help differentiate which NPCs you're interacting with. As a DM I typically default to the Rule of Cool and want to reward really fun/creative player choices, rather than have the rules as written override everything, but it changes depending on the scenario. But again, the Session 0 will be huge for this campaign, since we'll have plenty to iron out as far as what you all want from this setting!
