About the adventure
Welcome Adventurers new and old! This One-Shot is geared towards beginners. Who may have never heard of a D20. I'm a Teacher at heart. I love to show people this Wonderful form of storytelling. So this session will give you the tools, and knowledge. To make a character and play in the game of Dungeons and Dragons. Also, you will have a Character Ready to play in future sessions with me, or at any table! This one shot Will contain: 1. Walk you through Character creation, on roll20 (This takes 80-90% of the time) 2. Learning dice rolls in/out of combat 3. Learning to look at the character sheet in/out of combat to help with obstacles, challenges, and fights. 4. NPC (Non-Player Character) Interactions. For Role Play opportunities. 5. Also Class specific challenges. To showcase the character type you chose. Setting: The Crystal Gates are a marvel of the world of Quartzia. But the magic and energies in this place are unstable. The crystals radiate and ramp up. Then arc out like a tesla coil. Creating a dazzling display of elemental power. Though beautiful, it is a constant problem for the surrounding area. Because when the arcs touch A portal opens to another realm, and something or someone always comes out! Guard duty at The Crystal Gates is an active one with lots of action, danger, and mystery. About me
Hello! I am Josh and welcome! About me: As a kid I loved to read. I filled composition notebooks with stories for fun. I loved theater class and public speaking. But never knew about this magical game called Dungeons and Dragons. Fast forward 2019 I start listening to my first actual play podcast. Then pandemic hits and I start my first campaign with friends I lived with in lockdown. Creating that campaign re awoke that childlike love for storytelling. Now I've taken off like a rocket. And my passion for this game is huge. I can't wait to show you what we can do together! Goal: One of my main goals Is to be the best teacher for new players on the site! I pride myself on my D&D onboarding course. For brand new, or one session players. I suggest trying out my learn to play solo session. I have done this for every one of my long running campaigns players. I believe you will confidently know how to make a character, and play at any table afterwards. As a DM, I want to create immersive, unforgettable experiences for my players. I believe that collaborative storytelling lies at the core of D&D, and I'm committed to weaving narratives that capture the imagination of everyone at the table. Josh made entry into the world of DnD amazingly fun and simple! I never felt intimidated by the character creation process, and at the end got to have a fun adventure to try out DnD with my new character! Absolutely 10/10, I would guide any newcomer his way.

I had an excellent experience with Josh. I signed up for a one person beginner session. Josh taught me the fundamentals for character creation, world exploration and combat. Josh is patient and he explains game mechanics clearly. This oneshot brought me through a few landscapes. I went on an entire adventure occured in just a couple hours. Thank you for your time!

Just have an idea in your head of who this PC (Player Character) is. We will do all of the sheet work together. I can Teach Character Creation on Roll20 or D&D beyond. So just be ready to have fun.

I will have Roll20 open to give the full experience of the tabletop. With vivid maps to set the vibes of the scene. Also, the current "Players Handbook" available for you during player creation. And we will chat on Discord!
