About the adventure

“Greetings, operatives. We have discovered the location of a great dwarven treasure, but only a prisoner incarcerated within the prison Revel’s End knows how to access the vault. This quest, should you choose to undertake it, requires you travel to the prison, infiltrate it, and learn how to access the treasure from the prisoner. Return this information to the dwarf known as Varrin Axebreaker, who will brief you on the details of the mission. Good luck, operatives.” Bring a sneaky character and leave your weapons behind. The goal is to get in and back out without leaving any evidence behind, and that means no killing. You'll have lots of intel to prepare with, but it'll be up to the party to make a plan. You don’t need to know anything about the setting or the game to play, and my style is lighthearted and great for new players.

About me

I love GMing because I love watching my players' faces light up when they realize they get to do a cool thing. Sometimes it's "wait, I can be a goblin?!" or "I can fly!" Other times it's the realization that a fireball is a whole handful of dice, or watching a roll come up Natural 20. Even a Natural 1 is disappointing fun for all at my table. I spent 20 years as a historical swordfighter and medieval recreationist, basically playing real life D&D without magic. It's more fun with magic and monsters! As a member of the LGBTQ+, anti-fascist, anti-racist community, I try to keep my games as inclusive as possible while excluding bigots. BOOKING REQUESTS: I'm available most days to play on your schedule! My homebrew: Renzopolis (an Open World city with a map that might be familiar to my medievalist friends) Whistlecoil & Silvertong's Mechanical Adventure Simulator (a one-shot carnival that can be canon in your campaign) Whistlecoil & Silvertong's as a campaign PvP Fight Night (I referee your grudge match or organize a tournament) My official modules: Lost mine of Phandelver Uni and the Hunt for the Lost Horn Scions of Elemental Evil Frozen Sick Intro to Stormwreck Isle Prisoner 13 (Keys from the Golden Vault) If there's a different game you'd like me to run, let me know. Estoy estudiando Español, pero soy nuevo.

Character creation

Creating your character

Please have a level 3 character ready on DND Beyond, or let me know if you need help making one! Characters in this campaign have access to my books.

The current party

I'm open to changing the time or even the day. We'll have a free session 0 to meet each other and coordinate characters, and probably take a quick trip to Whistlecoil and Silvertong's amazing Mechanical Adventure Simulator!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need a microphone, free Discord account, and free DnDBeyond account. Camera is optional. Use your real dice or my digital ones. Optional: sign in at Owlbear Rodeo to unlock extra tools.

What Renzo brings to the table

My gaming style is lighthearted and low-stakes. The characters might not always have fun, but the players sure will! Players have full agency over their characters and can do anything that the Fates and the Rule of Cool allow. I use voices, custom maps, and music to help set my stage in the theater of your mind. Game start time is flexible; let me know if you want to change it!

Safety

How Renzo creates a safe table

We take bio/stress breaks as needed, especially at scene changes. Every session starts and ends with time for questions and concerns. We use X, N, and O cards as part of our Virtual Table Top, Owlbear Rodeo. They're part of the Rumble! extension. I keep a Lines, Veils, Stars, and Wishes document for each campaign that players can edit anonymously. My games NEVER include: Sexual assault Detailed, explicit torture or sex Player-on-player bigotry, bullying, or harassment
