About the adventure
Inspired by the charm of Redwall, the adventure of Disneyās Robin Hood, and the gravity of Watership Down, Humblewood invites you to step into the role of a courageous ragtag band of a feisty woodland creatures. Trouble brews in the heart of the Humblewood. Long ago, elemental fire magic scarred a corner of the forest, but now those flames are spreading, threatening to consume the balance of nature itself. The druids are in disarray, the forest's denizens are terrified, and time is running out. Bandits harass the roads and refugees flood into the city at the heart of the Wood. The forest needs heroes. You and your band of woodland adventurers - foxes, owls, ferrets, ravens, and more - must uncover the truth behind the growing inferno and find a way to restore harmony. The fate of the forest and its way of life rests on your shoulders! Together, you just might stop the flames, or be consumed by them!

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hello! Pull up a chair, friend. This world is sorely in need of stories worth telling. A bit of lightness, a bit of courage, a bit of clever wordplay. There's nothing like a roleplaying game to draw out the best in us, and also to let us explore parts of ourselves that rarely see the light. That's why I play. I hope you'll join me! Iām always learning and growing, and I try to read as much as I can about D&D, game design, history, politics, and storytelling. I am a big fan of Dimension20, especially seasons where Aabria Iyengar or Brennan Lee Mulligan are the Dungeon Master.

Creating your character
We will work on character creation together during Session 0! We will start at Level 1. Character sheets will be on D&D Beyond. My preferred stat method is: You can roll on D&D Beyond, and if you get lower than 72 total in the dice group, you can reroll once. If you still don't like your results, you can use Standard Array or Point Buy. Standard Array is the safety net if the dice fail you. Please do not roll more than 2 dice groups. I have the Humblewood Campaign Sourcebook on D&D Beyond, so you will have access to all the cool character options they have available! The Birdfolk: š¤ Corvum : crows, ravens, blackbirds, grackles š Gallus : grouse, pheasant, turkeys, ducks, geese, chickens šļø Luma : doves, pigeons, chickadees, wrens, sparrows š¦ Raptor : eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures š¦ Strig : owls of all kinds The Humblefolk: š¦ Cervan : deer, elk, moose, antelopes š¦ Hedge : hedgehogs, porcupines š Jerbeen : mice, chinchillas š¦ļø Mapach : raccoons, ferrets, badgers, š¦ Vulpin : foxes, wolves, coyotes

What Isaac brings to the table
No matter your experience level, I set a welcoming, inviting tone at my games. Your questions are good, your baggage from your last game is not too much, your experience matters to me! Pull up a chair, friend. I have a Master Tier D&D Beyond account and a Plus Monthly Roll20 account, so all your digital needs will be taken care of. Iām a musician and an artist at heart, so I love incorporating graphic design elements, musical soundtracks and ambient noise, beautiful maps, and character art to enhance the experience of the game. I think the biggest thing I bring to the table is a flair for the dramatic. I was a musical theater kid in high school. Character voices. Storytelling. High drama. Heartrending conflict. This is the stuff I like. Very much. I try to keep a good balance of combat and roleplaying (40-50% of game time) with some exploration and puzzles thrown in for flavor (5-10%). Sometimes one session ends up with more of one than the others, and Iām happy to adjust based on feedback. The Rule of Cool is a very important part of my style. If something will move the story forward in a cool way, I may not even have you roll for it. Iāve been learning that rolling too much can be a real barrier to more important things, like the narrative and the dramatic moment.
Homebrew rules
ā Silvery Barbs is not allowed. We are using the 2024 rules, with the exception of the Grappling rules! For that, we will still use the 2014 rules.
