About the adventure
Who has not heard rumors of the lost city of Arden Vul? During the glory days of the Archontean Empire, now 1,200 years in the past, Arden Vul was a small, but important, wealthy and secretive imperial center located atop a 1,500’-tall cliff at the head of Burdock’s Valley. Dominated by the imperial administration itself, as well as by the great temples of Thoth and Set, the city attracted alchemists, scholars, priests and sorcerers by the droves. Seeking the lost secrets of long-dead civilizations as well as the mysterious element known as arcanum, the Archonteans delved deeply - and secretively - within the mountain. Alas! The terrible civil war that rent the Archontean Empire, that is, the war of Sortians and Theosophs, led to the utter destruction of the city and the withdrawal of the imperial legions from the western continent of Irthuin. Now, with the renaissance of imperial power, it is possible for well-equipped adventurers to make the long trek to Arden Vul from the exarchates of the coast. Tales of gold piled in imperial vaults, legendary magical artifacts resting in unspoiled crypts, and the fruits of the lost secrets of ancient imperial smiths and mages lying ripe for the picking are legion. Yet alongside the tales of lost treasures are other, more unsettling whispers. How could a lost city remain unplundered for more than a millennium? Surely only the existence of the cruelest of foes and unimaginable evil within the mountain can explain Arden Vul’s unspoiled status. Only the bravest, the cleverest, and the luckiest of adventurers will survive to plumb the mysteries of Arden Vul.

Can’t believe I haven’t left a review for this guy yet. He’s an epic DM. He rolls with the punches when needed, allows for creativity, and in terms of storytelling always leaves room for progression while still giving cathartic emotion within a setting. I’d happily play more games with this guy if my schedule wasn’t terrible. But he’s great at communicating and setting immersion into the settings. Would recommend him to anyone.
I've been in a few sessions with this Game Master, and so far me and him have both been having an amazing time! He has amazing voices, maps, music, and storytelling skills! If I could select more than three tags, he would check off all the categories and then some! This man has a great knowledge about the settings that he runs, and when he doesn't, he actively researches and takes the time to do deep dives to make sure he provides the most immersive and realistic experience he can provide to you. When I play with him in my Dragon Ball game, I feel like I am a character plopped straight into the Show, and it feels amazing! He also is very energetic and it makes me happy to see that he is having just as much fun and passion as I am about our game. Especially after coming off a bad game previously, this guy has given me a breath of fresh air and a place of safety that brings me endless joy whenever we play together, regardless of how long we spend time together! So if you want a kind, compassionate, and enjoyable friend to tell stories with that will help immerse you into a whole new world and setting and story, than look no further than your only hope for Fun Times: Obi-Wan!
One of the best GMs I've ever had. He always listens to his players and is open to feedback and makes changes based on it. His stories are really engaging, I've been enjoying playing in his dungeon crawler game. He is able to take this genre of games and keep from falling into the find a room, fight this enemy and loot said room loop that can happen. He also really gets into character with his NPCs giving them all unique voices and character traits that help bring the world to life. Finally he's open to most creativity/stupid ideas I and other players come up with in situations. Like recently our party got a wish from a beholder that we defeat in our dreams (long story) and he allowed for us to create this paragraphs long wish, was kinda more of a contract, and implemented it in all it dumb glory, along with its unforeseen consequences.
I randomly signed up for a oneshot to help my current dm with testing some stuff, and Obi was the dm, and I cant say that i’ve ever had a better experience while playing dnd. The pacing was fantastic and they gave us the necessary space to be ourselves and roleplay. The combat was well run and fast-paced and they kept the whole party engaged with the story. Even if it might have been a oneshot I am glad to have met them and look forward to being in their games.
Character creation
Creating your character
We will go over the details of character creation together on my discord server, and the resources required will be listed in the server as well. You will all be starting off as Level 1 Adventurers within the OSR system coming to delve the dungeon together as a group.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure you have a Discord Account, a Functional Keyboard, and at least a handful of replies in you per day. You do not need to write 10 paragraphs per reply, just make sure to scale what you're typing to what would be appropriate for the situation at hand. If you need to quickly reply to something happening, you might only need 1-2 lines. But if you're trying to pull off some more complicated maneuver, please be detailed in how you write, because what you say and how much effort you put into it might effect the outcome.
What Obi-Wan brings to the table
I have been a Text RPer for over a decade at this point and feel confident in my descriptive writing skills in truly setting the scene to the best of my ability. In addition I will be sharing music options frequently that I recommend listening to during certain scenes or floors of the dungeon. Even if we are not in a Voice Chat, I still do my upmost to ensure my players feel engaged and invested in any scene I put to screen. I will be using the Tupperbox Discord Bot for the purposes of making each character I play easily identifiable at a quick glance and to avoid having confusion between who or what said a given line in a post. This campaign will definitely reward Creative and Imaginative solutions to problems, so it more so leans towards the Rule Of Cool than a strict Rules As Written style. Keep your wits about you and play things intelligently and who knows what could happen!

How Obi-Wan creates a safe table
As a GM, It is part of my job to make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and is enjoying the experience of my campaigns. I check in on people at the end of every session, make sure to take at least one break over the course of it, and do my best to make all my players feel welcome and allowed to speak up at any time if something is making them uncomfortable or if they need a moment to collect themselves. My session 0s are primarily designed to help get people accustomed to the system I'm using if they need it, introducing people to each other to make sure the group will work well together, and running over all the important details on each player's comfort levels. In addition to a dedicated Session 0 with the entire group, I always do my best to answer any questions sent to me in private between or before games, and help develop character ideas to the fullest. This game will be run through a Play By Post Format, so my players are always encouraged to speak up if something is happening during a scene that makes them feel uncomfortable.
