About the adventure

A dark cloud looms over a small, remote, island settlement. A loud roar rings out in the sky. Confusion envelops the town as a column of shadow begins to rise from the horizon; Townspeople flee to their homes as a shadow rain falls upon the earth. Soon, the puddles of shadow that form from the rain coalesce into beings of pure shadow that crawl and devour everything they see. You're here on what was supposed to be a simple research expedition- and very quickly it's apparent that it will be anything but. In this campaign, you will... 🩸Battle against vampire, bats, shades, and other creatures of the night! ⛪Interact with the locals of Talmador's Bounty, a small island settlement in the ruins of a long-forgotten nation! 🏰Delve through an ancient prison meant to be forgotten by time and awakened by ancient evils. ⚔️A level 1-10 adventure path, with a campaign leading all the way up to level 20! When the adventure path concludes - we will see how the group wants to proceed from there: in Fists of the Ruby Phoenix, Curtain Call, or Stolen Fate, or Spore War.

About me

I've been playing & GMing TTRPGs since the late 90s with D&D 3.5. There's something incredibly special to me about a group of 4-6 people coming together at a table to tell a story with ups and downs, party members discussing combat strategy amongst each other, and figuring out the right path to go forward. As a Game Master I believe my gamemastering style could best be described as a "beer and pretzels" kind of game; A casual environment with a strong emphasis on player fun. I take two different approaches to make sure that you have the best experience possible at the table: 1) Full Transparency. Whenever I make a ruling, I will give my reasoning along with the ruling. Any hidden dice rolls that are made during the session will be made available to view after the session (via dice stats). Additionally, I try to give out DCs before rolls are made to ensure that the stakes are properly set. I want to foster a safe play environment of trust and I believe that trust is something that should be earned. 2) I like to take a "Fun First" approach when it comes to rules. If the game's rules would require you to spend a ridiculous amount of time to do a simple action (i.e. drink a potion), I'll do some research into what the game has that mitigates it, or come up with houserules to mitigate any "feel bad" moments that these rules incorporate. Obviously there's enjoyment to be found in working within any rules constraints, so this is usually on a case-by-case basis on items that are persistent pain points. Overall, I strongly believe that my role is as a facilitator for the group to tell the story they want to tell. If the group wants to get up to whacky antics it's my job to hold a straight face and introduce respective consequences, and if the group wants to tell a serious story about overcoming difficulties it's my job to introduce road blocks along the way.

Duncan runs a fun table and breathes life into the adventure path, infusing the NPCs with personality. He is very adept at Foundry and runs the tabletop better than any other table I've seen. I also appreciate how he worked with me on my character's background and has made that relevant throughout the adventure, which includes several interesting surprises. I can't wait to see how things turn out. Highly recommended!

Mister Duncan is definitely a great Game Master! I really enjoy the aspect of throwing a lot of potential RP heavy towards him and his way of handling what has been given to him by me. The combat is definitely fun and engaging and he always has fun ways for the combat encounter to be handled in multiple ways. His knowledge of the PF2e system is definitely his most excellent resource for any player to take note of. That plus he is always willing to work with any player to throw out the red carpet for anything during the game time. I Michael; definitely think that this GM is worthy to be a player of!

Duncan knows both Foundry and the systems he runs like the back of his hand. Super approachable, his NPCs are a hoot and he's very flexible when it comes to modifying the game based on his players decisions. Can't recommend him enough.

Well prepared, supportive, and helpful. I came in not understanding the system or Foundry VTT, they backed me up the whole way through and helped me get a feel for things.
