Storm King's Thunder!

Storm King's Thunder!

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

Giants have emerged from their strongholds to threaten civilization as never before. Hill giants are stealing all the grain and livestock they can, while stone giants have been scouring settlements that have been around forever. Fire giants are press-ganging the small folk into the desert, while frost giant longships have been pillaging along the Sword Coast. Even the elusive cloud giants have been witnessed, their wondrous floating cities appearing above Waterdeep and Baldur’s Gate. Where is the storm giant King Hekaton, who is tasked with keeping order among the giants? The humans, dwarves, elves, and other small folk of the Sword Coast will be crushed underfoot by the onslaught of these giant foes. The only chance at survival is for the small folk to work together to investigate this invasion and harness the power of rune magic, the giants’ weapon against their ancient enemies, the dragons. The only way the people of Faerun can restore order is to use the giants’ own power against them. Roll for initiative! ADDITIONAL DETAILS HOW TO PREPARE Internet Access, a free Roll20.net account and a Microphone will be required for play during the session time for game access and communications. You will also require a competent web browser (ideally Chrome), to access the game during the session. WHAT I PROVIDE Gameplay interface, maps, & dice rolling will be provided via Roll20. Access to game materials and links will be provided in the Prep Materials section after you join. GAMEPLAY DETAILS Players can expect session zero to cover introductions, the group dynamic (alignment/character preferences, lines and veils, etc.), explanations for what the adventure entails as well as expectations for what the players are looking to find. Any house rules or game settings, such as XP leveling, will also be discussed at this time. During sessions they can expect quick flow into or out of combat, some occasional voice work, good knowledge of the rules, and a sharp keeping of start and stop times so we can keep to schedule. Each session will end with a period of questions and comments so I can better gauge how things are going and apply course correct as needed. Every few sessions will also end with a special variation of feedback so we can really hone in on that best game that everyone will enjoy and remember. I will also be available outside of session times for questions and comments if needed. CONTENT WARNING • Alcohol Use • Blood • Death • Violence SAFETY TOOLS USED • Session Zero • Debriefing • Open Door • Aftercare YOU SHALL BE COMFORTABLE! In Session Zero we will discuss if there is content that you don't want to see in this game. I will make sure that they will not be included. For example: I will never create a situation in which children are hurt.

Chris was awesome! I wanted to learn to how to play so I can one day play with my brother and his friends and Chris is the guy to learn from. I failed my rolls so many times yet he made the game still exciting as it was stressful. I somehow managed to clear a goblin cave and save an NPC. Chris is the man and I could not have asked for a better first time experience. Thank you Chris!

Chris was so fun with his descriptions, and did a great job introducing us to mechanics without any of it being overwhelming! My whole group had such a great time we’re starting a campaign, would definitely recommend to anyone looking to try out D&D!!

Chris was very kind and answered all questions I had. He was patient as he walked our party through learning how to play. He definitely added humor in and made the experience great for my first time playing.

This was my first ever experience with DnD, and Chris made it smooth sailing and, most importantly, fun! Looking forward to more sessions in the future!
