About the adventure

On the run, the heroes make their way to last bastion of witches deep in the swamps. They carry with them a magical baby with untold powers and very little control. Will the witches be able to help the heroes on their journey and save the child from her fate at the hands of the oppressive empire or will they seek to use the child for their own ends? This is the second of many homebrew modules I am play testing. The collection spans a continent ruled by a fascist theocracy. A group of heroes must band together to incite rebellion and usurp cruel and heartless gods. The party must choose to travel to the Rift, an open wound in the land, the free lands of the barbarians, the Dwarven Kingdoms, the Elven Conclave, or even the capital city of Prosperity. Will they fix the ancient wounds that created these dark gods, will they unite the people, or will they even become gods themselves?

About me

Hey everyone! I have been GMing for about 15 years now. I have run D&D (4e and 5e), Savage Worlds, Kids on Brooms, and Star Wars FFG. I have over 10 years of in depth experience with VTTs. My focus is to have a fun, exciting, and welcoming experience for everyone at the table. I emphasize player agency with their characters and the story as well as creating an inclusive, tolerant table that encourages each other. I am currently enrolled in school as a Finance/Accounting major so we will have any math covered. Seriously though, my experiences and life have taken me all over the world and that allows me to distil unique perspectives into an exciting and engaging game. I have run games for newbies and veterans of all ages. Hope to hear from you soon.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation can be done using the link to my dndbeyond. Players will begin this game at level 2. All races and classes are able to be used, but the world has harsh opinions about those that are not human passing and magic that isn't divine in nature. Feel free to ask me any questions and I am more than willing to walk you through any nuances.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A mic is needed. A camera is optional.

What Daniel Stevenson brings to the table

I have a D&D Beyond subscription with all of the character options so that my players have access to every character option. I use Foundry VTT that contains custom maps, tokens, and sound. There is no setup required to access this. I use Zoom for voice and video. No subscription is needed. I use discord and although it is not required, it is a great way to connect with your fellow players. I am a big proponent of the rule of cool and will allow players to have big cinematic moments. This time I am bringing my homebrew world which includes homebrew monsters, maps, dieties, and countries.

Safety

How Daniel Stevenson creates a safe table

During sessions I have multiple methods to alert me if you are uncomfortable. There is an x card in the VTT, we use the stoplight method, and I have multiple lines of private communication. During the session we often have a 5-10 minute bio break, but it can be used to decompress or discuss any concerns. At the end of the session I leave 5-10 minutes to discuss any concerns you may have. If there is anything you need to say privately this can be lengthened. After session, there is a discord to discuss your experience at the game. I can be reached privately through discord to discuss anything you need to discuss. Finally, we have a session survey at the end of every session that you are able to fill out with any questions or concerns.
