About the adventure

We swap systems and adventures to get a breadth of experiences across many worlds! The next game will be: Vaesen - Old Meg My dear friend, I fear I have been remiss in failing to keep up our acquaintance. The correspondence of our student days was most enlightening – for me, and I dare hope that you found some diversion in it as well. I still dabble in local archaeology and folklore, and have read a little in the London newspapers about recent discoveries in your own country. I wish I were writing now to renew our acquaintance and to propose further exchanges on such fascinating matters, but I have another purpose. Certain troubling events around the village where I serve as curate of the church reminded me of our discussions concerning the legends surrounding certain standing-stones and their connection in folklore with tales of witches, hags, and other trollfolk. More than that, a young woman is dead – horribly murdered – and her former suitor is in danger of hanging for the crime. Since the unfortunate girl’s body was found, our village has been in the grip of winter. Frosts as bitter as those of February blight the flowers of June, and some creature – perhaps a wolf, though none has been seen in these parts for four centuries at least – has been driven by the cold to prey on farmers’ livestock. Other strange occurrences have added to the woes of the local people, and there is talk of a curse. In our student days, you hinted at some knowledge, some resource, that you could bring to bear in unravelling mysteries of this nature. If you do indeed have it in your power to investigate our situation and bring the truth to light, then I beg you to do me the honour of visiting. My home is humble, but it is at your disposal. I await your reply eagerly, and hope for the pleasure of renewing our acquaintance in person. Sincerely yours, Edgar Longby, M.A. (Cantab), Curate of the Parish of St. Birren, Brancomb, Nr. Annonsbury, Glos.

About me

Hi there! I am a Games Master with nearly a decade's worth of experience and have run a number of games in D&D, SWFFG, Starfinder, Lancer, Basic Fantasy, Pokemon Tabletop United, Pathfinder 2e, Blades in the Dark, Forbidden Lands, City of Mist... quite a few. This hobby has somewhat taken over my life: be it my fortnightly game that has been running for 8 years, various one-shots and mini-campaigns, play-by-post experiments, artwork, books... I'm rather enthusiastic. I use Foundry VTT's many bells and whistles to bring life to all of these fantastic games.

Panda is the GM you've been looking for! Always has great stories to tell. Has solid combats which allow for all the players to use their characters. Panda is always coming up with new tweaks and features to help his games really come to life and engage the players. Inclusive, understanding, and always open to new ideas, Panda is a great GM to have running your game. Fair warning though... Panda loves a good cliffhanger and always seems to find them!

Panda was great at making everyone feel welcome and involved. He went out of his way to allow for player creativity and would patiently and clearly explain any rules or other clarification that was needed. I feel that he is really interested in everyone having a fun time.

In the pbp pf2e game I'm in, Reece has the perfect balance between being laid-back and funny, and being 'professional'. He makes sure everyone knows what they're doing (in-game and on the pratical side), and then he lets things happen the way the players decide, only and seemlessly bringing in the next part of the story when all is settled. Thanks to Reece (and some good fellow players), it feels like we are writing a cute little story, even if it's a pre-written adventure.

I play in four online games at the moment, all different refs and all different systems; and this one is my clear favourite. I think for me its becuase of getting the combintation just peftect between the risk and jeopardy inherant to a game worth playing, whilst also making enjoyment and creativity a well rewarded priority. Given that this is all coming from an introductory pre-written adventure (where half the players do'nt know the systems or setting) i think that is pretty impressive. Its been fun, its been tense, its been cool, and its beingg perilous all in good measure. I'm loving it and long may it continue.

Oh god... What was good? Like... Everything? Almost. I think he tends to make hard encounters without seeing it, but he always balance it out afterwards. He's an awesome story teller and is such an open minded GM. (Also, he's handsome) This man goes 100% when he's got a group that gives it back to him. He single-handedly made Pathfinder 2E and Pokemon TU sheets for Rolegate and Tableplop just for us. He is always open to propositions and as long as they are not *too much*, it almost always is a yes. He was my first true PbP GM. I love him. I can't stress enough how awesome this guy is.

A fun, dynamic and well paced experience. A GM that lets the players contribute to tone and pace, but keeps us on track with the intended adventure. This adventure doesn’t feel on rails even when it probably is. Huge effort put into the look and feel of the material. I really, really look forward to logging on for these games.

How Reece - Panda Beard creates a safe table

This is a narratively-driven system with simple mechanics and a "fall-forward" philosophy. This focuses on the characters, their choices, and how they interact with the world. We work together, craft the story as a team, and the dice will help add complications and unexpected turns. Table Etiquette: - This is a game: having fun is always the first goal. This expands to all players - GM included. - Respect the team: racism, homophobia, xenophobia, sexism, or any other toxic and disgraceful behaviour will not be tolerated. We are all human beings, so let's celebrate that. - Communication is key: conflict happens, and often enhances the game as a whole. Make sure that you check in with everyone so that we can be clear about where that conflict stops. - Be reasonable and clear with your expectations: every character has a story, and campaigns are long-form. I'll do my best to make sure that everyone feels that they have had valuable "screen-time", but I would also ask that you remain patient and respectful of the fact that the spotlight may shine on others for a time, too. That being said, I - as a mistake-prone and fallible human - will always take the time to listen and discuss any grievances. This refers back to the previous point. - Do not be a ghost: this does not mean "don't be quiet". Some people aren't as keen on role-play, and that is fine. What I am referring to, is people exiting with no word or explanation. If our game is not your cup-of-tea, that is absolutely fine, and I hope that you find a better fit soon. If that is the case, please let us know. I always appreciate feedback, and that way we can fill the spot, and the game doesn't grind to a halt whilst we find explanations as to why your character isn't there.
