About the adventure

We practice this faith to try and remember the virtues that the saints wanted us to hold onto from a time when mankind could have more certainty of their place in the world. Everything is clouded now. Is there really any need for worship when we are godless men in a world of scorched earth? Why muddy things further when they might be left alone... Poor poor Safnalor, all blood and bone upon the table. She'd been found like that, barely clutching the babe, and the name on her lips. What a martyr. What a saint. Oh, burnt gods, listen to them sing. "Scholars of the Red Requital" is a long-term campaign set in an overarching homebrew world. This setting in particular is inspired by Bloodborne, Howl's Moving Castle, and Arcane, but cast into a more historical fantasy genre. Neo-victorian film noir intrigue with anachronistic levels of technology. Mild body horror vibes with a heavy focus on roleplay and conspiracy in a city of theocrats and hemomantic cryptarchs hiding in the shadows. Character creation as well as general orientation will happen during Session Zero!

About me

Hello there! I'm Fitz (they/he), and I have been a GM for about 10 years—4 of those professionally. I run weekly paid games, high concept one-shots, and have built up quite the tight-knit community over at what we like to call "Also Dragons". Most of the campaigns I run take place in an overarching homebrew setting, spanning different genres, corners of the world, and differing types of magic and technology. Together they paint a larger picture, each player adding a brushstroke.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters creation will occur in call, to allow for discussion of potential backstory connections and to allow consistency with the rest of the party. Nothing worse than a player making a character they are passionate about only to find that it's not a good fit for the setting or the party! There are some other details around equipment and house rules that will be elaborated on in Session Zero and may inform some player choices!

The current party

Weekly sessions, every Monday at 4pm Pacific (7pm Eastern)! *Session zero/sit-in free for new players to get a feel for me as a GM <3

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Stable, reliable internet connection and audio quality required. Video preferred but totally optional. We will be using D&DBeyond for character sheets, and Discord for voice, video, campaign tracking, and battlemaps.

What Fitz♦️🍏Also Dragons brings to the table

I have access to all official content on D&DBeyond as well as animated battle maps which we will be using via a screensharing VTT method. I prefer this approach as I feel it best emulates an at-the-table feel and reduces the amount of tabs and things for people to keep track of!

Safety

How Fitz♦️🍏Also Dragons creates a safe table

Session Zero allows the players to take the floor, ask questions about the setting, make requests for content they would (or would not) like to see. We will get you oriented with the Also Dragons server, discuss house rules and general community dynamic, and go through content-consent checklists to gauge levels of comfortability with subject matter that may (but will likely not) arise.
