About me
I absolutely love being a DM, online or in person. DM online. I was forced into it by my friends wanting to play D&D, but no one wanting to run the games. I took the mantle and enjoy it a lot. I'm a storyteller above anything else. I've ran a few one shots and short campaigns. I wanted to get into running online games and teaching others how to play. I love the creativity, teamwork, storytelling, and fun over everything else. Combat is fun, but it isn't the whole game. Roleplaying is a big part, but I never force anyone to roleplay if they feel shy. Everyone who wishes to join one of my games will be sent a link to my Discord. It's a great place for the community of TTRPGers!! And we love having new people join into our warm and welcoming channel! My job is to make sure that everyone has a great time and builds friendships!!!

Creating your character
So when you join my games, I will message you on here a link to my growing Discord channel! I love for the players to roll stats in my channel, for a better chance of a powerful character. We will be starting at level 1, with the classes in the 2024 player's handbook. I dont put much restriction on character building, but I do know that some of the newer spells are extremely overpowered. And if you can do it, so can the baddies! You can create your characters as soon as you roll stats and I send you the link to the campaign page on DnDBeyond, or you can wait if you want to talk with me. I love backstories and usually incorporate them into our story.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need the AboveVTT plugin for Chrome or Firefox (that's how we play with maps and tokens) and it is a simple program to use for players and DMs. You'll need a discord handle, a DnDBeyond account (both free), a good microphone or headset so we can hear you beautiful voice, webcam is optional. But mainly what you'll need is a cooperative attitude and a desire to help your teammates make a great story that we can share for a long time!!
What James brings to the table
I will bring the bones of a story!! I want the players to bring the organs, muscles, and life into the story! I bring my content on DnDBeyond, ambient music and battle music, the NPCs, maps and tokens, and mainly, I bring a love of storytelling and want everyone to enjoy themselves at my tables! You are the heroes, I'm everything else!

How James creates a safe table
I am easy to communicate with and respect everyone's wishes! If anything gets someone upset, please contact me so we can figure out how to fix it! I run a Session 0, which is definitely a point of meeting the players! I have homebrew rules I like to go over, and how I run games! I love Roleplaying and try to balance it with challenging combat encounters. But also in Session 0, I can learn about the player and what they expect. I also learn what they look forward to and what is "no man's land" as far as story beats.
