About the adventure

Counting down the days, you watch as the big tents finally go up, the lights shine through the night, and the smells of the carnival beckon you to return. It's been years, longer for some, since your last visit and this is your chance to find what was taken from you. Little do you realize you are in for a whirlwind of a time trying to find the lost without losing more and discovering the Feywild is truly a place of magic and mystery. This is a Wizards of the Coast (WOTC) adventure that takes you from level 1 to 8 with plenty of opportunity to incorporate each players' goals and backstories into the narrative. With a heavy emphasis on roleplay and storytelling, folks of any experience level will enjoy creating their own story within this module. As a GM, Rule of Cool guided by Rules as Written is how the table is run, and in the Feywild, that means plenty of opportunity for players to get creative and see just what they are capable of. Trying to avoid combat through negotiation? Solving a puzzle unconventionally? Exploring the forest looking for mushrooms? Tell me how your character accomplishes that and we will see how it goes! In addition to the adventure, I will work to incorporate character backstories, allowing for a deeper connection and continuation of the story behind what is written, should the party want to continue.

About me

Hello! I'm Britt. I delved into tabletop gaming during COVID and never looked back. I've been Game Mastering since June 2021, and I started playing in September 2021. I'm well-versed in D&D 5e and am learning Daggerheart, along with other table top systems. My tables are welcoming spaces for everyone, regardless of age, race, gender, or experience level. I've hosted games for players ALL ages with the youngest at 6, from newcomers to veterans. They're always LGBTQ+ friendly, and my pronouns are she/her. In our games, we come together to weave stories, and I'm here to facilitate that. Whether it's a one-shot or a mini-campaign, players drive the narrative, and I'm here to guide and enhance their storytelling. We play on Roll20 and use Discord for voice communication. Character creation, if needed, can be done on D&D Beyond for easy access to resource books. Feel free to share any homebrew ideas; we can create the perfect character and story together.

Character creation

Creating your character

- One on one chat with each player for character and backstory creation prior to our starting. We can also run a session zero intro to help establish your first visit to the carnival and what was lost in your childhood. - Standard Wizards of the Coast races/species (excepting Fey*) are fair game for character creation. If you are unsure or want assistance figuring the specifics out, I am available to provide suggestions and guidance. *Limited to GM approval are any Fey races - I am open but they will require a conversation to properly establish them into the setting and story. - If you have a particular background in mind that is not WOTC, let me know! There are plenty of great third party/homebrew ideas out there, I just need to approve first. Additionally, there are two specific to this module if you are interested in a carnival worker as a character.

The current party

UPDATE: we have started, but am happy to integrate new players. Message me directly if you are interested!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

- Free D&D Beyond Account (used for character creation) - Free Discord account (this is where the magic happens!) - Character concept and possible backstory ideas - Excitement to dive into the story with your fellow players

What Britt S. brings to the table

- A dedicated Discord Category in the server with channels for general chat out of session and an "In Character Chat" channel with separate threads to help track days/encounters. - D&D Beyond Campaign page for character creation and adventure primer notes. - Maps and images posted to the Discord for reference - Posting daily to set the scene and keep the story moving forward with occasional bursts of posts during heavy roleplay or combat situations. Pace and frequency will be adjusted to the needs of table as we go. - My games are run Rules as Written for with a heavy dose of Rule of Cool. If you have an idea, I want to hear it!

Homebrew rules

**NOTE - if the players can do it, so can the enemies!** Flanking: Players must be on opposite sides of the enemy for advantage on their attack Cleaving: Extra damage from a killing blow given to a second enemy within 5ft of the initial enemy. The attack roll must hit the AC of both enemies for the damage to be given Hero Points: These may be added to any attack roll or ability/skill check to help tip the scale toward success. Depending on your character level, each player has 5+ half their level rounded DOWN d6 available. Once used, they are gone. Potion Consumption FOR YOURSELF: Using your action allows you to gain the max benefit of the potion. You can opt to use your bonus action instead and roll for the healing instead. FOR OTHERS: This will always require an action and the healing will need to be rolled. Critical Hit Modification: On a critical hit, roll 1 die and then add the max damage for you damage die. ( e.g. 2d8 damage: 5 (rolled)+ 8 (max) = 13 dmg.)

Safety

How Britt S. creates a safe table

There is a dedicated Session Zero channel on my server that outlines safety tools, table/posting rules and expectations, and homebrew game rules adjustments. Leading up to our start, I will work with each player to help create and establish their character's goals and backstories, as well as any player lines and veils you may have. Additionally, a general channel will be open to post any questions, comments, or out of character thoughts/conversations
