Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Curse of Strahd is one of the most famous - or infamous - campaigns ever written for Dungeons & Dragons, and whether it is simply due to its unique setting, gripping villain, or gripping history, it manages to reel in players both new and old time and again. D&D has changed since 2016, though, and SO. MUST. STRAHD. Whether you are a new player to the campaign itself, to D&D as a whole, or a veteran of both for many years, you can find something novel and gripping in this dark fantasy tale about vampires, curses, prophecies, and finding the light of hope in the darkest of places. Curse of Strahd REBORN is a campaign designed to bring the vampire lord of Castle Ravenloft and his gothic horror themed land of Barovia into the new era using the experience of countless DMs over the past 8 years and the inclusion of a couple modules of supplementary content, while still remaining faithful to the original spirit, story, and characters of the campaign. This is a roleplay heavy campaign with a minimal focus on combat, and a large emphasis on character, mystery, suspense, relationships, and the themes of horror, pride, and hope. 2024 rules will be tentatively allowed and balanced around appropriately.

As a new player to D&D, I don't think I could ask for a better DM than Em to help me get into the game. She goes above and beyond to ensure we are all well taken care of, especially us newbies. The campaign itself is exciting and engaging. My favourite thing about Em is her ability to incorporate and adapt all of the players' ideas so that we all can appropriately do what we want to do, the way we want to do it. That of course doesn't take away from the fact that Em is so fun and approachable as a person too. I look forward to the laughs and shocks of our sessions every single week! Thank you, Em :)
Em is a great DM!!! It was my first time playing DND, and she helped me through every step, from set-up to in-game questions to random wonderings about what I can do with my character. She's great at world-building and voice acting, and she's conscious of what her players are comfortable with and what kind of story they want to tell. I can't wait for my session each week, and Em is a huge part of that-- anyone would be lucky to have her as their DM. :)
we are on session five now and its been fun they are letting me have a lot of creativity with my character and with the world building and other stuff i would they act very professional and a fair dm with a lot of jokes in-between I would play another game with them as my dm gladly, yet my schedule would not allow it 10/10 would recommend to any one trying to get into dnd or any that played for an while
I've been playing in Em's games for years now, and with every session or campaign, I can't think of a single time where I didn't walk away with a smile on my face. I look forward to every single session she runs. She's wonderful at keeping her players involved and very receptive to feedback on what we do or don't have fun with. She's also mindful of everyone's boundaries and takes active steps to make sure we all communicate with each other and have the best experience we can, and to make sure that everyone has time to do what they want to. I'm consistently surprised and delighted by the twists she comes up with, be it an NPC or a plot point. With Em, it truly feels like a vibrant, collaborative world not restricted by game mechanics. I would recommend her games to absolutely anyone, especially if you're looking for a chance to tell an amazing story.
Emersyn changed my mind about roleplaying games, and turned it into a fun experience that I look forward to every week! I have always tried my hardest to get into DnD/RP, and for the longest time I just couldn't get a campaign to stick for me. Primarily I had a hard time getting to know or care about my character, I didn't understand the world I was in and it felt like doing any research would possibly ruin the experience!(so I stayed confused.) Not her campaign though! Em will work with you and your current knowledge so your character feels so much more real, and fit perfectly within the story she is telling. Highly recommend, and Thank you so much!!

What I provide
I have a degree in voice-over performance, so you can expect a large variety of unique, consistent, high quality character voices. Sessions will be held in a private Discord server, a communal session note board will be provided, and I will provide all battle maps, Virtual Tabletop operation, and music during sessions. I lean much more towards "rule of cool" - meaning there's no need to stick to the letter of the law if breaking it tells a better story.
Gameplay details
Session 0 will be used to discuss the concepts of the Lines and Veils system, as well as X and O cards, purposes of the Stars and Wishes, and advise players that a consent checklist will be sent to them to fill out privately. A preliminary session will then be held.

How will character creation work
Character creation will be done before the first session, in a voice call with the DM. These can take 30 minutes - 1 hour. For new players, I'm happy to teach anything and everything needed and walk you through the process. For veterans, this won't be necessary, so your call will likely be a little shorter. From there, once a character sheet is created, we will spend the rest of the time finding a place of origin and backstory for your character. Session 0 will be dedicated to integrating everyone's characters and playing through a small starter adventure to bring everyone into the world of the Curse of Strahd.
