About the adventure

The official campaign for ALIEN RPG: "Building Better Worlds" runs through 7 official expeditions suitable for Space Explorers! Be part of the "away team" and help "The Lost Colonies" return to humanity. These expeditions all connect to each other with an exciting metaplot and a grand finale adventure that will affect all of humanity. You'll also get to play as a Space Colonist and tame the wilds of a newfound planet. Tap into resource deposits and see if you can strike it rich, or maybe even find some alien specimens. Colonists may be planet-bound, but you'll still be dealing with local troubles, major storms, dangerous wildlife, and the occasional space virus. 🕵️‍♂️Take on the role a Space Explorer in search of new worlds! 👷‍♂️ Build a Better World through Exploration, Prospecting and Colony Management! 👾Investigate Strange Creature Sightings and contend with Space Pirates! "To Find and Forge Our Future." That's what the pamphlet said. Find a new home amongst the stars, build yourself a new life. Now you're on a massive colony ship 2 years from Earth as part of "The Great Mother Mission", a political endeavor to reunite some long lost space colonies that haven't been heard from in over 70 years. You'll be facing down deadly environments, hideous monsters, political activists, corporate snakes, and treacherous archaeologists. "The journey of a thousand light years begins with the first step. Take that step with us, to a new world, a new home, a new adventure! Dare to live the life you’ve always wanted!" "Come join the great United American adventure! Three meals a day, a ship to call home, fair wages for all. Make your fortune and see the open skies of the cosmos. Opportunity awaits you sir—opportunity awaits!"

Luke's a great GM, been playing with him for awhile. He has a really stable and steady table, with many players sticking around and becoming regulars. His created content is great and he runs with an even hand.

I've been playing in Luke's games for well over a year now and it's always a good time. He comes to every session prepared and makes sure that every player gets a chance to shine. The games I've played with him have been accessible for new players without being limiting to experienced players. I've also enjoyed discussing GMing and Foundry tips with him as well as some homebrew balance discussions. I highly recommend joining his games if you can.

Perfect integration with foundry, the game master was very accountable, and some how we didn't get off track

Phenomenal GM for scifi RPGs Alien and Blade Runner. Sets the mood with a great VTT, narrative, soundtracks, and sometimes even custom-made handouts to augment the experience or base game. He allows players to get creative, follow their own path and go off the rails a bit sometimes which is great but he also manages to keep the pacing and story moving forward. Hands down my favorite GM on the platform.

Played in Luke's Edge of the Empire one-shot "Escape from Besh Station". My partner, friend and I had so much fun in this game. Great intro story that left many asking for more. Provided many paths of which to interact with the story and make it fitting to what we wanted. Definitely leaned on being open to what the players want to do and focus on fun. Being familiar with the system, the prelude provided for how the system and online interface works plus introductory explainer was a display of masterclass training skills. Strong usage of The Foundry through soundtrack/maps/sound effects. Beginner friendly and great at on-boarding people into the hobby.

I had a lot of fun escaping the lock up and sweet-talking folks in the cantina with a great group of players. Luke's characters were fun and we had some choice in which way to go. Since I had absolutely no clue what I was doing (I tried, but everything I watched or read had left me more confused than when I started) I am very grateful for his patience and ability to keep the flow going.

Character creation
Creating your character

Character options will be made available to all on a private discord server. Actual character creation will be done prior to Session 0, and I'll be available to assist you with the process. Session 0 will be used to determine your setting, the type of adventures that you want, and establish some character backgrounds in the group. Plan on creating TWO characters for use, just in case one character dies or you want to change your play style. One character should be designed for life on a Colony, the other will be set to Explore the stars. Totally new to ALIEN RPG? GREAT! Let me know and I'll get you introduced to the basics.

The current party

Never played ALIEN before, but looking for an intro to some sci-fi adventure? Join up! I'll help you learn the rules. No need to be a deep student of lore to join. Gameplay will be cinematic, combat will be fast paced, and exploration will have a tense and investigative feel. Adventures may include custom tailored encounters for the group as based on your characters.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

Discord is required for voice chat. I also use the Foundry Virtual Tabletop which runs best on Google Chrome and will have all of your character information already filled out. Foundry VTT is a browser-based VTT that is free to players and requires no download. The Foundry VTT contains a dice roller and info from the Core Rulebook for reference.

What Luke The GM brings to the table

Ambient soundscapes, custom maps, dynamic lighting, animated visual effects for weapons, sound effects, (awful) character voices, and thematic music.

Homebrew rules

Homebrew creatures, custom mechanics, items and talents. I'm a fan of "Rule of Cool" but I work to keep it within the realm of plausibility and the rules where possible.
