About the adventure
Can you Save The Town of Phandalin from Impending Doom?! Form a Party and search out the Lost Mine of Phandelver and it's wonderous Secret! Take on a vast amount of unique monsters and enemies. Discover Magical Weapons and Items to aid You on your quest. Meet the townsfolk of Phandalin and abroad and uncover the mysterious Evil that is lurking Below!! The setting is Fantasy and takes place in the Forgotten Realms, Faerun, on the Sword Coast, starting around the small town of Phandalin. This Module is a classic 5e tale recently revised and expanded in the recent rerelease. Players will advance from level 1 to 12!! It is perfect for beginners or veterans. Everyone having fun is my priority! I follow 5e rules, but allow the rule of cool when it makes sense. I award creativity in combat. I enjoy tweaking the module on the fly to keep it fun and exciting and balanced for the players! I also enjoy bringing NPCs to life with distinct personalities for players to further their immersion in role play. I like to work with you to tie your backstory into the adventure! I love immersing my players in the world through their imagination, and use maps for combat when prefered or for clarity. I can post plenty of handouts when necessary to help clarify or if needed for players that need help visualizing. This is a asynchronous Play by Post (PbP) game, which means you get a daily dose of D&D at your leisure! An ongoing adventure that myself and the players play when we have free time. We don't need to be online at the same time. However it does sometimes happen that we are, and then it's even more fun!! Playing in this style takes the pressure off of making split second decisions and you dont have to worry about matching players schedules. This format allows us to literally write a fantastic imaniginative story together at a comfortable pace. I check in often throughout the day, everyday, to play and keep it flowing. And expect players to check in daily to keep it flowing as well. If a day off is decided upon by the group that is fine too. Payment is made just once a week. About me
I began playing D&D when I was young. The red box and Moldvay images emblazoned in my mind. Also read The Endless Quests and the Lonewolf choose your own adventure books long ago. Then I went on to AD&D for a bit. There was a special magic to it all!! The camaraderie with friends! The artwork, the dice, the minis and maps and monsters!! You know the feeling! A few (many! shhhh) years later, I returned to the game of games to teach my son how to play, and realized that magical feeling was still there and over the last 4 years of playing, it has only grown stronger! I DMed for my family, then got on roll20 and ran the Critical Role excerpt Frozen Sick. I Also got on Discord for some PbP (Play by Post), then for a friend in person, back to pen and paper. Currently running a game for my son and his friends, and just finished running a Dragons of Icespire Peak pbp (play-by-post) game on the Dungeon Realms app,we were playing everyday for the last year, with nearly the same group! Long story short I've been DMing non stop for the last 4 years, and I love it. I love seeing/hearing my players faces light up at the sheer joy of taping back into their imaginations. Basking in the their excitement as they come up with the perfect plan together! And hearing the laughter that can erupt spontaneously from playing this amazing game! Let's create a story we'll never forget!

Creating your character
Characters will begin at level 1 and gain levels until 12. We will roll up stats on my Discord and then apply them to your Dnd Beyond Sheet. You can create your character with any of the official 5e books. The only Species I don't allow is Aarakocra. No Murder Hobos No anti-party characters Thank You!
2024 PHB can be used and is shared via D&D Beyond free. Play occurs daily, in Your spare time, at a comfortable pace for everyone. You get to play daily, but just pay once a week. What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need to have discord (free) and a D&D beyond account (free). The game will be played via text instead of voice (no camera or mic necessary) on my designated discord with avrae and D&D Beyond and can be played on most cel phones and tablets, so you'll have online D&D play on the go. (Stuck in a line? Play a little D&D. On a break at work, play a little D&D. Etc. Etc.) Beginners are always welcome!
What DM Shadows (Brad) brings to the table
I offer official publications such as the Player's Handbook 2024 and 2014, The DMG, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Tasha's etc, and quite a few Modules, to share with you via D&D Beyond's share system while you are playing in my campaign. 🌟 Players books are shared as well, so we have Every Book! Maps, images and battlemaps will be used as needed, from DnD Beyond's Maps. I like to post art after monsters have been described. I like combat to be exciting and challenging! I like to roleplay the npcs and enjoy when the players RP with eachother. I provide a safe gaming space, free of racism, bigotry, and sexism open to All. Let's unlock our imaginations have fun and write an unforgetable story together!

How DM Shadows (Brad) creates a safe table
The percentage of the 3 pillars of gameplay, Combat, Roleplay and Exploration will be determined based on what the majority of the group prefers as every group is different. Personally I prefer a balanced game and do enjoy tactical, creative and challenging combat. I love giving npcs distinct personalities and watching the party roleplay with them and each other. Session 0: We will go over any fears or phobias players have to ensure the game is fun and stress free. We will discuss what level of narrated fantasy violence is comfortable for everyone. We will discuss your character's backstory, so we can tie it into the adventure. We will determine whether your characters have any previous relationship to each other, ie. Friends, siblings, former soldiers, classmates, etc.
