About the adventure
This campaign will find your characters adventuring through the Astral Sea, piloting a spelljamming ship in search of the legendary ship known simply as “Spelljammer.” Feared by some, hunted by others, the awesome vessel glides through the vastness of space on manta wings. Known as the “Flying Dutchman” of the Astral Sea, it’s said that great treasures and deadly encounters await those who can find her. Is the Spelljammer a legend from the past or a mystery of the present? Is it truly a ship or a living being? Who commands it? What secrets hide in its massive hull and dark towers? The true story of the Spelljammer awaits your discovery. This campaign will start at level 1, and will continue through to level 20. (If the campaign is already in progress, check the recruiting notes or contact me for more information about current level). PLEASE NOTE: DM Bob Yo is committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion. If you support transphobia, homophobia, racism, misogyny, ableism, or any other form of bigotry or fascism, you probably won’t be comfortable at my table. You’ll need to look for another game.

Meet the Game Master
About me
“May your journey be grand, your adventures vast, and your tales be told for ages to last!” - DM Bob Yo Hail and well met, brave adventurers. I’ve been telling stories and running games for more than four decades, leading adventurers through strange lands, dangerous battles, and memorable quests. I especially enjoy helping new players get comfortable with the game and making it easy to jump in. My table is built on inclusivity, respect, and collaboration. I want every player to feel welcome, heard, and able to contribute to the story. I try to bring together the best parts of old-school D&D with a modern, open table where creativity and camaraderie matter most. I’ve run games in living rooms, game stores, conventions, and plenty of places in between. No matter the setting, my goal is always the same: to create a fun, engaging experience and a story worth remembering.

Creating your character
Characters will start at 1st level. Prior to the first session, players can discuss character ideas in the group Discord. You may use any official D&D sources (including Unearthed Arcana). Character creation should be done either in DnDBeyond or Fantasy Grounds. Players will be given a link to join my DnDBeyond campaign, upon request which will give them access to all of the published Dungeons & Dragons character options. Please be sure to check the Prep Materials after you sign up for more details about character creation, as well as links to my DnDBeyond campaign and the Discord server.
The campaign is currently at 7th level; I'll provide additional character creation info after you sign up!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Prior to play, you'll want to have Fantasy Grounds Unity (the Free DEMO version is fine), Discord, and Zoom installed on your devices. If you've not used these services before, don't worry! Newbies are more than welcome, and I try to make myself available to anyone ahead of time who needs technical assistance.
What DM Bob Yo brings to the table
I bring the story and all of the maps/mechanical necessities. I also provide access to a shared DnDBeyond campaign containing all of the character creation options. I have a big stack of prior edition Spelljammer materials that I'll be utilizing to make our sessions even more exciting!

How DM Bob Yo creates a safe table
GAMEPLAY: Over the course of the campaign, players will experience a rough balance between combat, exploration, and roleplaying, though specific sessions may focus largely (or sometimes entirely) on one aspect of the game. This game will include fantasy violence and adult language. SAFETY TOOLS: Lines and veils are used to set boundaries on content in a game. Lines are hard limits on content, things that the GM or the players don’t want to engage in. Setting up a line means that content won’t show up in the game at all. Veils are soft limits, things that are ok “behind a curtain” or when they “cut-to-black.” Setting up a veil means that the content might be in the game but not spotlighted or described in great detail. Lines and veils can be adjusted as needed throughout the game. I will discuss lines and veils with players prior to our first session together. In addition, I'll make Monte Cook's RPG Consent Checklist available to everyone.
