About the adventure
First session free! Tiamat has been defeated and sent back to Avernus. However in the dead of winter, six months later, there are more foul things afoot. The year is 1490 Year of the Star Walkers Return, the first of Alturiak. The day after midwinter. 2/1/1490 The gods have spent a great amount of divine power, leading to the clerics hearing from them less often. The druids of the sword coast have tried their best in the recent months to bolter food production. But there is only so much magic can due. Neverwinter, Waterdeep and Slivermoon suffer food shortages despite importing from the Kingdom of Dragonspear and Bulders Gate. The seas have become trecherous with the death of the campaion of Umberlee. The Queen of the Depths and her minions both alive and undead have been dragging ships tot he depths. Trade across the Anauroch desert has nearly ground to a halt as it has become harder to cross. Giant worms and dragons not before seen have been plaguing the desert sands. In the North a unending winter had begun in icewind dale, Lord Neverember seemingly have foreseen this when a star fall laned on the north side of the spine of the world. Had sent their forces north before the war against the cult began. Despite Neverwinters attempts at dropping the orc population prematurely. It seemed to have less of an effect then desired as the orcs from the spine of the world have gathered under the banner of clan Skull Cleaver and have began marching south. The Sword Coast teeters on the edge of potential destruction. Corruption and resource shortages have led to growth in the underworld. As new faiths rise, the Faithful of the Man Emperor in waterdeep and Daggerford forming human elitist groups. Wererats or rat men have been encountered in vaster numbers in the Underdark and dungeons. The Faithful of the Absolute in waterdeep are a growing society endowed with psionic powers. The Gods Bane and Bhaal have been elevated. Across the swordcoast magic has become strained to use, above that of the 3rd tier. Mages have been having trouble drawling on the weave, and psionic induvials have been plagued with the same problems and in some cases: madness. All of you have been called by your old friend, the tiefling malice to the Yawning Portal in Waterdeep. Having given each of you a good luck charm which infact dose seem to be bringing you good luck sense the end of the war. She says she has jobs for all of you, jobs that can help not only give you the gold needed to survive till next harvest but maybe help the world.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I am a Player and DM of 6 years and constantly looking for opportunities to improve and explore. I enjoy playing D&D and willing to try other TTRPG's. I am mostly experienced in 5E D&D and 3.5E D&D. I love the game as a whole and seek to bring an encapsulating experience to all who play my games. From heavy roleplay to intensive combat and dungeon crawls. I have tons of ideas, open to feedback, and seek to create a healthy environment for my players.

Creating your character
This game will run from level's 1-20 ideally and if must players can switch out characters should their goals be achieved or if they feel they need a change. It is preferred that all players be present when the session starts though it is not a set-in stone requirement. Each player's character will be allowed one common or uncommon magical item if so desired from a list provided in the discord server or an extra amount of 150 gp to buy more basic equipment that may be needed. Level progression will be milestone biased and there is no restriction on alignment or character actions except to know they will have consequences. The party may even decide to join any faction they choose or split their alliances across multiple encountered factions. Player characters are urged to have backgrounds that tie into the world and have at least a simple explanation of their past. This can be as detailed as they choose. In the event a player chooses to play an amnesiac character, I will talk to them on the side about it. Stats for players will be randomly rolled for or they can choose the standard array or point buy method. Homebrew is allowed but will be subject to my verdict as the GM and may be nerfed or rejected on a case-by-case basis.
Session 0 is Free. This game is set in the world of Toril in the Forgotten Realms setting. Though not the traditional start for the basic modules. I am giving my own spin on it. The time table is flexible on weekends. Weekdays may be possible but will be preferred to start after after 5pm EST time.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will create characters on DnDBeyound in the campaign and manage them through DnDBeyound. I will run sessions through Discord. Most things will be theater of the mind, though some art for characters or monsters may be provided if on hand and some combat may be theater of the mind if I didn't have a chance to prepare. A mic is preferred though text biased play is possible. A webcam is not required.
What Heferrion brings to the table
The character sheets will be managed on D&DBeyound and games played in a discord server set up for this campaign. Prefer the use of a microphone or headset to communicate with the GM and other players. Games can be played in texted biased form if a player wishes to do so and if all players wish this than we will set up an initiative that allows everyone time to post a reply before the game continues on. I use a map making website called Inkarnate for making and managing maps, though I am trying the map manager on D&DBeyound. This game is set to start off in Daggerford as budding and new adventurers banding together in the new guild hall as a party to take on tasks given personally by npc's or their proxies and quests posted on the quest board. Allowing any new players time to get used to the mechanics before beginning to unravel the mysteries of the events coming to pass in the world around them. I like the rule of cool, and players characters can certainly try for anything though success isn't always guaranteed. Homebrew is allowed but subject to my verdict of nerfing or rejection. I am aiming for an immersive and fun experience, including many facets of social interaction and intensive tactical combat. I do try to use voices and will play music to help set the mood or tone. One-hour breaks will be taken halfway through each session except session 0.

How Heferrion creates a safe table
Session 0 will be free and a talk about characters, fitting them into the world, and trying to facilitate a healthy and fun gaming experience. This being said the world is a sudo medieval low magic fantasy setting there is some lea lay though. The tags from content warnings are not set in stone they give an idea of what you may encounter as the world is diverse and massive. Sexual content must consensual when between player characters and NPC's will result in fades to black. When between player characters they can take that to DM's if they want but not to take up game time. Role playing a relationship however is fine. After session's I will stick around to talk about anything any player wishes to bring up such as constructive criticism, player feelings and thoughts, ideas and address any emotional events if desired.
