About Heferrion

I am a Player and DM of 6 years and constantly looking for opportunities to improve and explore. I enjoy playing D&D and willing to try other TTRPG's. I am mostly experienced in 5E D&D and 3.5E D&D. I love the game as a whole and seek to bring an encapsulating experience to all who play my games. From heavy roleplay to intensive combat and dungeon crawls. I have tons of ideas, open to feedback, and seek to create a healthy environment for my players.

I became a GM because

I became a Game Master because I was interested and wanted to play more dnd. I love creating stories that enthrall my players and work in all their back stories.

When I'm not running games I'm...

When not running a D&D game, I am taking care of life aspects or at work. Though even then I ponder on the story of my games that I have created with my players and planning on how to move things forwards. When I have free time I enjoy watching movies or playing video games.

How Heferrion runs games

I like to run campaigns that are extensive where the players choices affect and change the world in ways they may or may not see. Multiple groups can affect that same world and bring about positive or negative changes across many campaigns. This allows them to shape the world especially over multiple characters and campaigns in the same world if so desired. I often run my games heavy roleplay and then rough tactical combat though combat is usually less often. I am not adverse to running Dungeon Crawls, Hunger Games style, Apocalyptic style, or Westmarch style games. That become more combat and puzzle orientated over roleplay or those who want to kill some time and something violently. I roll by the rule of cool a lot of the time, there are some things that a natural 20 cannot achieve. I allow players to fight each other if they are okay with it and no holds barred. I do not allow players to use rolls to force other players to do things they don't want to or like. My games can be from cartoony fun to grimdark where death is a real threat constantly.

My games focus on...

My games tend to focus on role play, though if my players express the dire for more combat or other themes. I will obviously pivot to entertain. Currently I have found a healthy mix of the two I believe, and I am not afarid to kill my players characters.

Rules are...

Rules are complex, I have added a lot of homebrew rules to my games that are optional. As for when it comes to making decisions on ruling's, I have a channel in my server that I will put my rulings in on things that come up to try and keep consistant.

When it comes to voices

When it comes to character voices, I don't have the widest rage of vocals sadly and attempting to use void mod seems to make people unable to understand me. I do try to have distinct voices or ways of speaking for each NPC.

Heferrion's ideal table

I try to be welcoming to all kinds of players, of course depending on the campaign some will be better fits over others. If the chaos gremlin of the group can't get along well with others during a cloak and dagger campaign, they may be talked too and asked if they can make it work or find a different character that fits. I try to keep a balance of serous and light heartedness where things will get intense during combat or speaking with important figures. Though you may always decide to empty a bag of holding full of poo on the evil noble to ruin his reputation.

I love it when a player

I really enjoy when my players bring themes or unique crazy ideas that I never thought of to the table. I enjoy when I can be surprised and outwitted. Though your enemy's may learn from you should they escape, and I run my world as a living and breathing environment.

I think it's a red flag when players...

I think treating others in a derogatory fashion is a problem. Things like this have been addressed before. Interrupting others turns or talking over them has been addressed at my table before and while accidents happen. We try to all have fun here.

I think min/maxing...

I am okay with players min/maxing as long as they understand D&D is a team game. Everyone wants their moment to shine and show off which is fine. Some have their character built for a specific set of skills to excel at which if thats the case, may have a easier time achieving something then others.
