About the adventure

279 years ago, a war broke out for a planet’s soul. And till now, generations later, the people are still struggling. Quipora, Homeworld of the Dragonborn, fought tooth and nail to keep its independence. But in the end, it was no match for the Novem Coalition—an arcanely advanced empire spanning multiple planets and trillions of people. The war left Quipora utterly changed. The surface of Quipora was made unlivable, and those who survived fled to the rings of the planet, finding the asteroids and rocks better than a wasteland. With arcane technology, people adapted to life on what is now known as The Wild Rings. In the present day, 79 years after the end of the war, the people of the Wild Rings are still struggling to survive. The rings are plagued by political corruption, poverty, and social unrest: a perfect environment for all sorts of crime—especially piracy—to thrive. This is going to be a story focused game, with an emphasis on roleplay and character decisions. Our story will eventually lead to our characters becoming cosmic pirates but less in a shiver-me-timbers way and more in a “Freedom from an unjust society” kind of way.

About me

(FORMER NAME: Trexiea/Trixie Hernandez) I am a storyteller, through and through. I have a background of 10+ years in fiction writing, in addition to being a published writer and poet. I have been playing DnD consistently for two years now and during the pandemic I listened to at least 500+ hours of Critical Role—as well as several hundred hours of Dimension 20, Dungeon and Daddies, and other actual plays. In addition, a decade in writing experience has given me a unique and solid understanding of plot, theme, worldbuilding and character motivation. I am passionate about being able to tell and weave together meaningful narratives with others. I’ve written and published many stories but TTRPGs create an immersive experience like no other. You as a player get to live THROUGH the story, watch it unfold before your eyes, and add your own stroke to the painting of the narrative. And as a DM, I get the joy of facilitating that story—setting you up for what is hopefully a tale to remember!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be starting at level 5, with 500 gp, and one uncommon magic item. We will also start with whatever hit points, class features, and spells, would be normal for a level 5 character of your race and class to have. Start with one free feat. Multiclassing is totally allowed and we will be Rolling for stats! Available races: Any race within the Astral Adventurer’s Guide and the Player’s Handbook. (EXCEPT FOR GITH for plot purposes) Available classes: Any of the standard classes within the Player’s Handbook (with the inclusion of the Blood Cleric and Blood Hunter).

The current party

Weekly game every Sunday afternoon. The characters we already have: - Inquisitor Rogue - Wizard/Warlock Multiclass - Cleric/Paladin

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A mic will be required and a webcam will be highly recommended. You should also have access to Zoom before the first session. All backstories and stats should also be completed and sent to me, and character sheets should be completed. (The whole character sheet doesn’t need to be sent to me, they just need to be done.) Access to Owlbear Rodeo for the combat encounters will be needed. A method of dice rolling will be required, whether physical or digital. IMPORTANT NOTE: This campaign has homebrew lore and factions. Reading up on that lore is essential to enjoying the story of this campaign.

What Tadhana Joy brings to the table

10+ years of writing and storytelling experience! Access to the Player’s Handbook and Spelljammer Astral Adventurer’s Guide. An interactive Owlbear Rodeo map to use for combat visualization! Zoom as a high quality, reliable, video service. The patience and willingness to help build a character, or character sheet with players who need the help!

Safety

How Tadhana Joy creates a safe table

In game, players can expect a high-stake world that reacts to their actions (or inaction ayooo). I love to dive deep into character arcs so you can expect a lot of roleplay both with NPCs and hopefully with other PCs as well. My goal is always to build a story WITH people. I do 95% of my storytelling as theater of the mind, with occasionally providing pictures or visuals when available. HOWEVER, an interactive combat map will be used via Owlbear Rodeo, in order to make it easier to plan out encounters but also do combat in general. Out of game, we will be heavily discussing the content warnings above in Session 0. We will also be using that time to discuss triggers, in-game homebrew rules for my table, and table rules for out of game behavior. During the campaign, my inbox will always be open to discuss and ensure comfortability with relevant in-game topics. This table will be inclusive to POCs (as I am one myself) and LGBTQ+ folks. Intolerance will not be tolerated.
