About the adventure
Your friend, the Automation Radius, has been having issues with his memory, as have several other of your friends and companions ? Who is to blame ? Your really should get to the bottom of this before setting off with the Amber Clave to find out why they have lost touch with their outpost in the Beyond. After all, any peril could befall you in the Ninth World once you no longer have your wits about you... We will be simultaneously playing both the Slaves of the Machine God and the Amber Clave modules for Monte Cook's Numenera, an amazing game of exploration and discovery set one billion years in Earths future. Enter a world of science fictions so advanced it defies human comprehension as anything other than magic. Play a charismatic Arkus, an industrious Wright, a Delve hunting for the next big discovery, a powerful Glaive, a mysterious Nano, or a Jack, capable of all skills but master of none. Meet the Game Master
About me
I've been playing and running tabletop games since the mid 1990s. I loved creating and running stories for my friends, as well as fun and interesting characters to be a part of a shared story (and to provide a little entertainment for whomever was running the game as well). Over the last 25 plus years I've enjoyed meeting new friends and making connections playing in person and online. I see the process of running a game as a way to build connections with people and to have a shared experience where the goal is to have fun creating a shared story. As a game master, my role is to facilitate the world that your characters find themselves in To make it an interesting, fun, engaging place that you want to be a part of and explore regardless of if we are playing a full campaign, short campaign, or a one shot. Im a married father of 3, language and humanities teacher, former writer and annoncer for radio. Table top games are my one big hobby. I've taken the time to familiarize myself with Roll20 Foundry and Owlebear Rodeoover the last few years during the pandemic. I am a big proponent of providing a safe space for games regardless of background and not exceeding comfort zones. I believe that any game I run should be a safe space for any player regardless of ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender, age or other demographic grounds. I believe in open communication as well as the rule of cool, and while I will often default to the rules or at the very least the spirit of them, I will gladly bend them for something interesting that makes the game more enjoyable for all. I believe the ability to improvise is just as important as the ability to plan and I try to find a solid balance between combat, social roleplay, exploration, and investigation. I do occasionally run Dungeons and Dragons 5E but much prefer Numenera, Mothership, Altais, and the Multitude of Settings available for Savage Worlds and Tiny D6 (and intend to put together a number of Free learn to play one shots for these systems in the coming days).

Creating your character
Character can happen before or during session 0, pregens are first come first serve. Characters should all be Tier 1 PCs using the adjectives, types, and descriptions available in the Core books (Discovery and Destiny) and/or player's options 1 or 2. PCs should start off with the existing starting cypher's or be prepared to random roll during session 0
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Characters need a stable internet connection and a decent quality functioning microphone. Those are the big things. Please join the discord as soon as you are able. If you want to make your own PC please feel free though I would like to see them prior to session 0 please
What Devin brings to the table
The discord has a dice rolling bot and a music bot for ambient sound/background music. Occasionally images of key figures or places will be shared and it is possible that we may employ owlbear rodeo to explore a few of the locations. Pregens will be available as will be digital character portfolios for those looking to create their own. Need a token for your PC? Provide me with the image and I can make it into one for you. I try to create an immersive experience with voices, well developed NPCs and villains, individual character voices and sound effects and ensure that my game world is fluid, flexible and responsive to the characters and their decisions which can often lead to impromptu material, sidequests, and adventures as a result of character choices.

How Devin creates a safe table
Lines and Veils are available in a specific discord channel and can be added to by players or, after Dming me, I can add to the list for you. We will be doing a session 0 to ensure that everyone knows the rule set and the expectations of the game. At the end of every session I would appreciate taking 5 to 10 minutes to discuss any issues or any events, good or bad, that popped up during the game, if you don't feel free in doing this in front of everyone msg me in private and we can discuss it there.
