About the adventure

New adventures around every corner! Our game setting is a magical travel hub with portals to times, places and realms beyond. Take up odd jobs, seek your heroes journey, meet a fairy or a demon... it's up to you! Our story may take us to familiar times and places in the material plane or to Shadowfell or deep into the Nine Hells. The goal, setting and tone of the game will change with each session, keeping things fresh. Your character will have a linear story line, allowing them to level, get cool items or learn new things as time goes on. Our game is light hearted and easy going, a great game for beginners to get to know the system and also get to explore the many realms, creatures and landscapes of Dungeons and Dragons.

About me

Like a lot of folks I started hosting TTRPG games online during the pandemic to foster a connection with my friends while we were all stuck at home. I fell in love with the storytelling and camaraderie and quickly took up the mantle of "forever GM". Over the years, I've managed to run 10 full campaigns and a handful of very fun one-shots. I've run games on 5E, Scum and Villainy, Honey Heist, and Cypher. As for my playstyle, my players get a lot of autonomy. For me, running the game is about creating a framework for a story and keeping track of the rules as we go. Where the adventure takes us and how we accomplish the tasks laid out is entirely up to my players and I encourage a little bit of chaos as we go. Collaborative, improvisational storytelling is why I'm here and I believe it is so much more fun for everyone if each unique adventure "belongs" to the folks who played it. My table is about having fun and making friends, less about the letter of the "RAW". So, join me! Let's tell a very cool story together!

Character creation

Creating your character

You may play the same character every session, or switch between characters as you like. Players who are comfortable doing so can create a level 6 character in dnd Beyond using the campaign link (If you do this, you will have access to my entire library of WOtC content). I will prepare a few pre-built sheets. I am also available and willing to work on character creation outside of the session without charge. Before each session, I will ask what character you're playing. I will need to review your character sheet before we begin playing with a new character.

The current party

Open jobs board, every session is a loosely connected one-shot. RP focused, but each session will shift in tone, difficulty and danger.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Once a player has scheduled a session, I will send a link to a Discord. All of the rules books and information will be there. It's not required that a player knows everything before we start, but a basic skim of the Player Handbook would be wise. Ideally, a player would use a PC or Laptop for our games. We play over Discord chat and utilize voice chat. However, the game is largely "theater of the mind" and when we do use maps we use Tableplop which is a very "mobile friendly" platform. So, if you only have your cell phone or tablet, don't feel like you can't participate.

What Cameron brings to the table

My Discord is set up with all the bots and bells and whistles needed to run a successful D&D game. I also have several supplement books. I use Tableplop during combat or interactive gameplay.

Safety

How Cameron creates a safe table

As this is a drop in game, we don't have an official Session 0. That said, feel free to reach out prior to your first session with us if you have any concerns about safety or comfort. Please DM me with any questions regarding the XNO system or if you need to ask me about any game content. Feel free to reach out with known phobias and triggers once you join as well. Our game is pretty tame, but I want to make sure I don't accidentally step into murky water for anyone. During gameplay, I am roleplay heavy, puzzle heavy, combat light and rules light. We will have combat, I will occasionally be a stickler, but I am a big believer in the "rule of cool" and my goal is, above anything else, to tell a cool story. Players can expect a very casual environment that is very beginner friendly.
