About the adventure

Do you like Critical Role? Do you like Dimension 20? Do you like . . . wanna play some D&D? Here's your chance to experience Matt Mercer's unmatched world of Exandria like never before—for yourself! ⚔️ This campaign runs from level 3 to level 12 and potentially beyond as the story becomes your own! 🌑 Cinematic music, narration, and gameplay will immerse you into vibrant locales from the wastes of Xhorhas to the sands of Marquet. 🌈 Engage with diverse and vivid NPCs, and choose for yourself who becomes friend or foe! This dark and thrilling adventure begins on the northern reaches of Xhorhas, a land where goblins, orcs, and more live in relative peace under an enlightened dynasty of dark elves. Locals and travelers alike have gathered in a jumbled, lively coastal town for the annual Festival of Merit; delectable meat pies and feats of strength and cunning abound, and for a certain group of fated adventures, the blood-red call of destiny is near. Exandria and its ancient secrets await—will you answer their call?

About me

He/Him Hello there! I'm Joe, and I'm a writer, filmmaker, and forever DM living in Argentina that can't get enough of running TTRPGs for veterans and newbies alike. Fantasy is near and dear to my heart, so I specialize in running official Dungeons & Dragons material with my own cinematic flair. My background in creative writing, film writing/directing, and acting has taught me that character is EVERYTHING to a story—that's why I do all that I can to shape my adventures, no matter their original design, around the characters my players create. Safety and well-being are my top priorities; there is no fun to be had if someone at the table doesn't feel safe to express themselves and BE themselves. Everyone is welcome in my games—LGTBQ+ players, players of color, players with neurodiversity, and even players who only roll natural 20s (though I will start to get suspicious after the 60th or 70th time). Hope to play with you soon!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters begin at level 3. I offer D&D Beyond character creation with all sourcebooks shared. I will add each player to a discord server and provide detailed guidelines about character creation there, and will also be available for direct message conversations. I encourage all players to come prepared with as much backstory or character creation completed as they want before session 0, but there will be time in that initial session to hash out details, ask questions, and even build the characters step by step together if any help is needed or wanted!

The current party

Every other Friday - openly recruiting an additional player! Characters are currently level 8. The campaign has so much left to offer 😈

Safety

How Joe creates a safe table

Gameplay is a balanced blend of role-play, combat, and exploration encounters directly from the module and/or custom designed around the characters being played. Character death is possible and adds tangible stakes to every step of the adventure. Some encounters will be easy, others life and death. It is up to the players to recognize when they are outmatched and should run—living to fight another day is as much a victory as any other. Safety tools and house rules will be discussed during our session zero, and will include a PDF for each player to mark their Lines and Veils. I will check in with everyone periodically throughout the campaign, but I also welcome any player to inform me at any time if something crosses a line or becomes uncomfortable in a session. This can be done in the middle of a session through a private Discord message or between sessions if it occurs to someone later that something didn't sit well with them.
