Joe has been our DM in Call of the Netherdeep for over a year so far. Why so long? Well, we play a campaign that meets every other week. Of the original players, two of still play and that is only because life happens sometimes and schedules change, otherwise they would still want to be there today. Joe has a nice calm demeanor and sets the tone and story quite well. He recaps thoroughly and succinctly as we get started each session with appropriate music. We have played mostly theatre of the mind, which I did not know if I would like at first, but Joe describes everything detailed and I have grown to enjoy it and it never became a problem. Recently he used the D&D Beyond Alpha Maps (I think that is what it was) and it was pretty cool. He lets us perform roleplay and develop our characters to really give the story more depth and personalization. Overall Joe runs a fine game that as soon as I am done playing a session, I long to play again in two weeks. I find myself thinking about the character I play and how I will interact with other players' characters and NPCs. Joe and the campaign have been a wonderful part of my gaming life.
