About the adventure

It is a period of civil war between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire. Join the Rebels to fight for freedom in the galaxy! I have created many original adventures and missions for the Rebellion era. They are fast-paced, tense action in which the Rebels must struggle against the odds. No matter the mission, I can guarantee a few things: Approach the scenario however you want. Are you good at stealth and infiltration? Prefer talking you way in? Use your technical skills to sabotage the enemy! Or... fight them head-on! Characters from all across the galaxy will be welcomed. The Rebel Alliance employs people from all walks of life, even if it's only temporary. All careers & specs will be welcomed. You will have fun!

About me

I've been running role-playing games since high school. Whether it was for a tight clique of friends or a group of disparate individuals across the world, I have tried to bring people together through my work. Creating and running games is a calling, an art form, and a passion. So often we are trapped by circumstances in real life. I feel like games should be an opportunity for people to feel important. I dislike railroaded plots because they deny the players the one thing that matters most: agency. You might be playing a street-level thug or a mighty lord of a kingdom, but you will always be the one making the decisions. Settings of special interest: Star Wars! Golden age of pirates. Warhammer 40 000. Zombie apocalypse. Bronze-age Superheroes. Feminist, LGBT ally, liberal. Dad. Shodan of shotokan karate. Nurse.

Jay was a great Game Master pulling us in with an interesting story, unique voices, and a deep understanding of the system and lore. We had a great time with a perfect mixture of tactical problem solving, diplomacy, and when the need came to it combat with a quick exit strategy before the explosions went off! I highly recommend him and will continue to seek him out for running more games!

Jay is an amazing GM, running the game flawlessly with unique NPC's and character voices. Jay knows the rules and has established a wonderful world for you and your character to be immersed in, all the while allowing you to create on your own and develop your character to their fullest. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Jay is an energetic and imaginative GM. He makes his campaigns engaging with backstory and interesting NPCs. He is also flexible and can adapt depending on what the party wants to do. I've really enjoyed playing his campaigns.

Jadykir

I played in several campaigns with Jay and really enjoyed his NPC characters. He was also very responsive to player interests, incorporating directed sub-plots based on our characters back stories and accomplishments. He brings lots of enthusiasm to his campaigns, making it really fun to be a part of the story.

Jay is a very solid GM with obvious and definite effort put in to all regards of play. He'll make sure your character is more than just a block of numbers and skills, and has thought-out vague storylines for the sake of hitting emotional high and low points, rather than exactly pre-determined plot beats. This means the players and characters still feel as though they are driving the story rather than following a script. It's a precise balance, done quite well.

Character creation
Creating your character

Please create your character ahead of time. If there are any details that must be hammered out, I am available before the game begins. Message me at any time. You may import an existing character, but if they have too much power it will likely be less fun for the entire group. I would say if they have more than 120 earned experience points it's probably too much. This will be an entry-level-friendly game.

The current party

In this campaign, I will be running the introductory adventures for Force & Destiny: Legends of the Past and Hidden Depths These adventures will give the players an opportunity to find some hidden Jedi relics and begin their path towards mastering the Force! Ideal for beginning players and new player-characters. Our first session will be rules-discussion, character creation, and a short adventure if we have the time. Session on October 10th is free. I expect it will take about three sessions for each adventure. If we manage to wrap up early, I have an exciting homebrew adventure waiting!

What to expect
Preparing for the session

We will be using microphones for voice. No need for webcams. Please be passingly familiar with the dice and their symbols, but the system is easy to learn and I have plenty of practice explaining it. If you have questions about character creation send me a message beforehand. You do not need to have an illustration of your character, but if you do have some art I would love to see it.

What Jay brings to the table

I will prepare the Discord channel and invite you to it ahead of time. It has a dice roller application so you do not need dice of your own. I like to do character voices and accents so I will try to work something in for every game.

How Jay creates a safe table

Fast-paced adventure, such as can be found in any Star Wars movie or story. The odds are against you, so be creative and don't expect everything to go your way. Still, with luck and the Force on your side, anything can happen. I have included a lot of content warnings, because all sorts of nasty things happen in Star Wars despite the lightness of tone. Rest assured I don't intend to glorify any of the hateful stuff that happens.
