About the adventure
Become true hero-kings! This is the Kingmaker AP, in a world that will be forever changed by the founding of a new nation. Make ties with your neighbors. Establish powerful academies and temples that will train generations of heroes. Lead the oppressed to freedom - or to tyranny like nothing they've ever known! This campaign will be heavily influenced by player decisions and goals. The main AP exists, but may go by the sideline for long periods of time as you take on private projects, even bring on new characters to deal with in-game events! The kingdom-buildibg system is being significantly modified, one of the biggest changes being that now, if you want something done right, you actually can go out and do it yourself! Come on in! Play in the sandbox, and let's see what we can build together.

About me
Mostly GMing for the last 30 years, I've had more ideas than I could ever get to the table. Hopefully, this will be a chance to get a few of them out of my head! I tend towards story-focused games that incorporate player input and plot threads, ranging from comedic tones to horrific ones. A student of myth, history, and true crime, I try to layer in some of the complexities that show up more in reality than in most published games - the forces of good and evil trend more towards the gray spaces in between, even the worst villains may have the best of motivations, and people are shaped by their pasts as much as their place in the story. I find it's a mindset that helps give a bit more depth to the world, and makes things feel a little more epic when done right.

Creating your character
Character creation will take place during Session 0, and it is recommended that while you come with ideas, you may want to have a few in case the party needs some gaps filled.
Takes place every Monday; cancellations accepted at no penalty up to 6 hours prior to game time. After that point, there will be an increasing penalty up to being half an hour late for the game, which will be counted as a no-show at full price.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Have a mic and headset - preferably not just your phone on speaker mode, it can be hard to filter background noise like that. You will also need to sign up for a Forge account (it's free!) and join the game on Foundry, as well as the Discord server (link provided after signup). Also, please put some thought into your characters' long term goals and plans. A questionnaire to help focus those ideas will be sent out when you sign up.
What Jason Leisemann brings to the table
I am setting up the play space on Foundry, with just as many tools as I can get for this. Aspects of the game (mostly Kingdom Building) will be modified with third party and home-brew material.

How Jason Leisemann creates a safe table
Content warnings contain what I think is most likely to happen and/or currently 'baked in' to the basic plot. Since this is a sandbox game, it could go other places pretty quick if the table decides to take it there. The consent checklist and XO cards will be *strongly* encouraged.
