About me

I am a passionate DM from NYC, playing and DMing 5e for the last several years after starting with 3e, primarily in Forgotten Realms. I tell bold stories with forward plot momentum, challenging combat, and play balanced across combat, roleplay, and exploration. I use discord voice & video and Owlbear Rodeo for VTT.

I've really enjoyed the different facets that Isaac has brought to the table. While you may be combating one session, the next you could be reciting poetry working, to rolling dice to compete in a contest of strength. Has been very inclusive and fluid allowing for the party to create a story as well as memories along the way.

Isaac is the embodiment on what I envisioned a DM should be. He controls the game, makes things dangerous, believable, and I feel like I'm really in the realm. He does outstanding voices and personas, remembers little nuances of your character and past decisions that you have made to adjust the game to the players activities. I've never felt constricted and the world feels truly open. Highly recommend this DM for any games. Just don't take him away from my group! :)

Isaac is an incredibly structured DM that strives to ensure all players are evenly represented. He does a great job managing different converging/diverging plot points and gives each players opportunities to be the star. He does a great job with theater of the mind and minimally uses technical aids for tactical situations. He is open and honest, always looking for ways to improve. He looks at the campaign from the lens of "we the party" as opposed to the "party vs the DM", that said he will allow the players to venture down paths that may lead to their ultimate demise. I can not recommend him highly enough.

We actually brought Isaac into a group of friends that had already played some campaigns together, and the fluidity with which he 'joined the crew' was commendible! I am not a terribly experienced player, but I have enjoyed the campaign that he has lead us through emmensily! Would recommend to anyone!

Isaac goes out of his way to create a game suitable for both first time players and experienced players. He made things easy for me to understand and feel welcome as a new player. His variety of voices, characters, and storytelling help him build an immersive experience that encourages creative interactions from players no matter their comfort level. He is extremely fair in his application of the rules. While still allowing decisions to have meaningful consequences, he will frame things in an immersive way that create real risk/reward scenarios. Players may die, beasts may be slain, but everyone will have the chance to engage with the story and have fun through the group dynamic. I've also seen him manage groups very well. He is clear with his values and boundaries, and will warn players of unacceptable behavior and take action, particularly to create an inclusive game where everyone is comfortable and able to have fun. He's a "spirit of the game" DM. Will prioritize a fun and engaging storytelling experience within the boundaries of the world.

Isaac is always prepared, always on time, well versed in the rules, knowledgeable of your character's backstory, and eternally patient with his players. His voice acting must be experienced to be believed (seriously, he should narrate audio dramas). He is quite adept at running very high level adventures (currently in a 17th level D&D 5E campaign). His games use Discord and Owlbear Rodeo VTT.
