I joined this game after being accepted through the StartPlaying listing and invited to the Discord. Neither the listing nor the server had any posted rules or restrictions regarding AI-generated artwork. During character creation, I shared three SFW AI-generated images of my character concept. When the GM said they were not a fan of AI art, I immediately agreed to stop using it and offered to use Google images instead. The GM said that would be preferred, and I believed the issue was resolved. Shortly afterward, I was removed from the server and blocked without warning or further discussion. The GM acknowledged that no rule against AI art had been posted beforehand. I respect a GM’s right to set boundaries and preferences. My issue is the lack of communication and being removed after I had already agreed to comply respectfully and without argument.
Anyone who can quickly manage Boundary and still prepare it with the flair it’s intended for is good in my books. Provided they are good at the rest of the work as a GM, which Daniel is. I had the opportunity to learn a new system as a new player with no stress, and had a lot of fun in the process.
Able to pivot smoothly when thrown a curveball- or three. Consequences for in game choices seem fair, reasonable, and relevant. Helped me learn the rules to “StarWars -Flight and Fantasy” and the game felt like it was run the way it is intended, taking every characters perks/flaws/backstory into consideration. Well done.
DC is friendly, detail oriented, and flexible in a way to interact with players in a cohesive manner while keeping the game flowing. He values player input while being firm as to what works and what is taking things too far. I have greatly enjoyed my time at his table playing “Blades in the Dark!” GM to GM, DC gets my seal of approval!
