Truly the baseline of all ttrpg culture, as well as the first thing people think of when hearing of our hobby, and while it is a good starting point,as it showcases a good mix of combat and roleplay opportunities for all your fantasy needs, it tends to fall short in comparison to it's competitors, only remaining the staple of ttrpgs thanks to the indefinite and brilliant work of it's community
brilliant webinar host! even tho it started at 1 am (my timezone is not great), i was captivated trough the whole thing, making a subject i was never great at captivating to learn, they encouraged me to be courageous in my image editing mischief and not be intimidated by my lack of experience!
"Hey kid, want some trauma?" is the standard statement to cover the best of World of Darkness. In Vampire the Masquarade you get to play as a (Blood) thirsty vampire in a world where everything that bumps in the night is either out to get you or employ you for less than market value. You get to pick your Clan (the kool-aid flavor running trough your veins) and try to navigate a new political landscape, usually between the shadow government Camarilla or the leather jacket, Molotov mocktails and very hot (headed) Anarch movement, unleashing vampire super powers and trauma upon all your enemies while maintaining your grasp on your humanity. Whether you want to play as a hot aristocratic Alucard with sire issues, a chaos goblin with homicidal intent or a deeply traumatized YA romance novel protagonist this is the system for you!
