This was my first time with a new system. Ryan was very patient, a good teacher with a great grasp on the mechanics. The way he explained them felt natural even mid-combat and never bogged down the game or broke immersion. He was also super easy-going and indulgent, working with us as the players while not handwaving the rules and allowing everything to happen, striking a nice balance :) There were not a whole lot of opportunities for socal interaction with NPCs (due to the nature of the oneshot and our own actions - whoops!), but he portrayed them very well, including delving into various voices! Ryan was communicative from the start, super approachable and above all, his enthusiasm for the system was downright infectious :) I can only recommend him as a GM!
Justin put a LOT of effort into the game, and his dedication showed. The way he seamlessly wove magic into everyday life brought the setting to life. A few suspenseful moments had me on the edge of my seat, and the combat flowed - Justin knows his stuff, from stat blocks to rules, so the game never got bogged down. He was as invested as I in every roll, whether the stakes were mundane, or my character's life or death. I loved that my choices actually mattered, profoundly, and that I could clearly see how things changed at different points of the game based on what I did or did not do. Justin shines the brightest at adapting, truly went out of his way to work with me as a player and smoothly sailed through the curveballs I unintentionally threw, whether by adopting NPCs or trying unorthodox solutions to certain encounters. Slapper the half-orc or the hydra shall not be forgotten :) Overall this was a great game, especially for me as a returning player. I had fun, can only hope Justin did too (it sounded like it! :D), and truly appreciate it. Thank you, Justin, once again for being the DM!
Dude's got his shit together, knows what he's doing and obviously has experience with running games. Regarding characters the combat is punishing, mistakes not forgiven, and characters can certainly die :D When it comes to the players, all I saw was him being nice, patient and understanding. Only played in a oneshot, but if opportunity presents itself, will certainly be coming back for more
