Arturo is an excellent GM. I'd never played Mothership before and he did a super job of introducing me to the system. He ran a super fun, spooky, engaging one-shot for us with a focus on narrative and it was brilliant. Highly recommend him as a GM, definitely jump into one of his one-shots as a fun time is guaranteed :D (Bonus points for the atmospheric music)
Google Meet is a great tool for voice chat during a game. It is quick and easy to use, reliable, and has a host of useful tools like a text chat, screen sharing, integration with other Google tools, and a range of addons to add more functionality. I give it 3/5 and dock a star because the free version only allows for group calls of up to 1 hour. Given that Discord is 100% it tends to be a better option. Google Meet comes in as a strong second.
DND VTT's strength is its simplicity. It is quick and easy to get up and running with, especially if using the pre-built encounters from the DND Beyond store. It is not as feature-rich as the likes of Foundry, but if you do a lot of Theatre of the Mind it is perfect. I have played D&D games that just use Discord and DND VTT and they are super fun.
D&D Beyond is a highly useful and valuable tool for D&D. In particular the character creation and live character sheets are incredibly useful for GMs and players alike. Being able to buy the D&D rulebooks, then share then with everyone in your campaign, is a great feature. It simplifies playing D&D online quite a lot!
Discord is super useful for playing TTRPGs online. While some VTTs have voice chat built-in, none are as good as Discord. It has video and screensharing which come in handy for the GM regularly. And as Servers can have multiple text and voice channels, it can act as an info and chat hub for your campaigns.
