About Arturo Guerra
Hello, passengers! This is your captain speaking. Please fasten your seatbelts as we prepare for departure into strange new worlds! 🚀 Coming from a background in film, VFX, and graphic design, I bring those same tools to the table: atmosphere, impactful framing, cinematic pacing, and an eye for moments that stay with you long after the credits roll. Rest assured that at my table, it is your choices that fuel the narrative engines of the games we will play. Whether you sprint across the roof of a moving train to catch an enemy spy beneath a neon sky, desperately run through the boot-up sequence of your mech surrounded by the burning wreckage of your comrades-in-arms, explore the crumbling ruins of a long-lost civilization deep in the Andes, or stand at the edge of time and space witnessing the last light of a dying star, I will be there with you every step of the way. Together, we will turn hard choices into harder consequences, and transform those moments into memories through cinematic gameplay. Whether this journey takes the shape of hyper-kinetic action, quiet reflection, or emotional roller coasters, we will create a welcoming and safe space for everybody at the table. I hope to see you in a game soon!

When I'm not running games I'm...
When I'm not running games, I'm usually somewhere far from home with a backpack and a TTRPG manual. Traveling reminds me how beautiful our world is, and how much more we gain by sharing what makes us unique instead of focusing on what makes us different. We should all just start playing games!
How Arturo Guerra runs games
Roleplay is at the heart of my games. To me, this is why we play RPGs: to become someone other than ourselves for a while. To live a thousand lives across a thousand worlds, make meaningful choices, and see the consequences unfold. I’m especially drawn to stories about ordinary people facing extraordinary events. That contrast creates the moments that stick with us. The impossible decisions, the desperate plans, the unexpected acts of courage. Those are the stories players remember years later. My games lean heavily into theater of the mind and cinematic play. I favor dynamic, kinetic scenes that keep momentum moving and action flowing through stylish narrative descriptions. When you can feel it, it becomes real. Action is always high stakes. Filled with hard choices. Harder consequences. Worlds that react to the players' actions. I want the most exciting part of every session to be the decisions they make, ... and as the dice roll, to have them experience that moment of delight or dread, as potential collapses into inevitability.

I deal with rules issues by...
I deal with rule conflicts by asking the table what makes the story better right here and right now. Every table is unique. Every combination of players, ideas, emotions, and perspectives only happens once. When needed, we prioritize momentum, trust our instincts, and build the best story together.

I love it when a player
I absolutely love it when a player chooses the path less travelled. When they push their character beyond the breaking point, take impossible odds, or make the bad call for all the right reasons. To quote T.S. Eliot: 'Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.'
