Brody | Admiral Adventures

Played 3 sessions

I have only been able to play with the Admiral for a short time (3 sessions), but they were all quite enjoyable. Highly effective at running combats in 5e that are fun and challenging.

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Old curmudgeons like me have a soft spot in their heart for the "mud and s*#t" TTRPG known as Warhammer Fantasy Role Play 2nd Edition. It was the first game that I remember you had to worry as much about getting a staph infection as you did getting stabbed by the ratmen in the sewers that definitely don't exist. The newest version of WFRP, the 4th Edition, is a terrific successor, really mechanically sound, and slightly less brutal.

Call of Cthulhu avatar

Call of Cthulhu

When it comes to the historical significance of a TTRPG, Call of Cthulhu has to be discussed in the same vein as games like Cyberpunk, Traveller, and Champions. It is the horror classic that I believe is largely responsible for the significance of H.P. Lovecraft in today's pop culture. Also, did you know that it's the most popular TTRPG in Japan? No joke.

Dungeons & Dragons 3/3.5e

Those familiar with 5e will find a lot that they immediately grok when they sit down with 3rd Edition. Essentially, D&D 5e is a direct descendent of this game. In my mind? It's an improvement, but there's something really special (probably nostalgia) about the original for me. If you want to play 5e's Dad, then hit me up.

Brindlewood Bay

First, this game is a hoot to play. Making up your "little old ladies" is just a hilarious time in and of itself. Second, they do some REALLY interesting stuff mechanically when it comes to running a mystery. It is my favorite mystery-ttrpg right now, and nothing else is close.
