About me
I’ve been playing tabletop games for almost 30 years. I first started with Warhammer and Dungeons and Dragons. I broke out later in my life into more more storytelling tabletop games. I am a travel photographer and creative director. Creativity and storytelling is what I do everyday. I love telling stories and hearing stories.

Not my favorite system. Been playing and running it since its release in 2014. I can now see all the flaws with it. The 2024 rules made a lot of changes that fix balance but it lacks tools to help a GM tell a story despite that is what the game says it does. Most of the rules center around combat and not much else. Because of this every answer to every solution is to attack. You can see this in almost every game. The game does not give tools for GMs to run a smooth game. Because of this D&D 5e requires a very experienced GM. And that is also the problem with this system as there are lot of D&D DMs that don't run it well. There are much easier games to learn and pick up that are not D&D.
I have played the old system and the new system, but only has one-shots. It is amazing. I am not huge into the Alien world or lore, but this game put a sense of fear and horror that no other game has done other than Dread. The dice mechanics are relatively easy to understand. And the characters can pick up decent skills. The stand outs are the lethality of the game creates a real sense of danger. And the objectives that change every scene really make a player invested in the story. It is such a great system. I understand why it is one of the most popular games from Free League Publishing.
Definitely my new favorite system. It lends itself to be story focused but has enough crunch to allow players to customize their character the way they want. The pre-campaign (session 0) tools makes it easy for the players to get invested in the game allow them to build the world and to build bonds between the other player characters. This makes the game easier to pick up and play with other strangers. This system solves a lot of issues with the most popular system, allowing for more engaging combat and dice rolls that REALLY matter rather than arbitrary pass or fail rolls. The campaign frames allow for great story worlds that give players and GMs great guides on how to customize characters and stories that will everyone can agree on. Daggerheart is an amazing system.
A really good system. It uses a modified version of the Year Zero Engine which means that is it is easy to pickup. The ability to give bonuses for downtime when traveling is a nice feature and the ability to build your own headquarters is awesome as well. The system lends itself well to the dark and dangerous themes that Vaesen offers. I really like running and playing Vaesen.
