The Puzzling Temple one-shot was a lot of fun *for the puzzles*, but the combat encounters seemed a bit unbalanced. The DM and his core players seemed keen to do things Exactly By The Book As Written, which for me as a new player (used to more of the Rule Of Cool play style), was a bit frustrating. That said, Zak extended the session so we could complete the full story, staying on an hour longer than scheduled. A week later, I joined another one-shot for the Discworld RPG and that was DEFINITELY a Rule of Cool session with a lot of humour, silliness, creativity... and of course puns (because Sir Terry). So... I guess the point is he's a flexible DM who can do both crunchy RaW and nebulous RoC games. Definitely recommended.
Fun scenarios, good narratives and prompting to keep the story moving; well balanced encounters with a mix of puzzle-based and combat solutions. The experienced players at their table are all super inclusive and creative, and helpful if you're a newb like me just getting into VTTRPGs and especially the world of Dark Matter for the DnD 5e system.
