I played a one-shot in a system of Dan’s own design! The “penny dreadful” game. The game mechanics are interesting and cool, the world and story were great, it was really just right for a satisfying game that concludes in a few hours. I would love to play with Dan again using that or any other system!

Jamie’s game was so much fun! It was imaginative, creative, a little silly, contained Easter eggs and surprises, and the right amount of darkness and violence. Really cool and creative to adapt an old D&D adventure to Cairn and switch what team we were on (we played a horde of kobolds and we encountered adventurers and we were not very nice to them). There were delightful twists I don’t want to give away in case she wants to run it again for another group but 10/10 I had a great time!

I have played numerous games GMed by Dom, and all were great games! This GM rewards creativity, but maintains game integrity. Games are more story/narrative/roleplaying, not just a combat slog, though there has been combat in every game I’ve played with Dom. When he has to invent stuff on the fly, it’s been creative and the right mood for the game. He’s sensitive to and accommodating of people’s boundaries and triggers and it seems to be important to him; some things that are common in games but also commonly upsetting in personal ways he categorically leaves out of his games. He’s also good at responding to what players want from the game (not just what they don’t want) but you have to get the dice rolls you need and use the game system. Also you might die, he’s not heavy handed but he feels the games are more compelling if success and survival are not assured! All around a very fun and fair GM, I will play with him again
