About me
I played D&D a long time ago (in college) 1982-1986 and im interested in starting again, from scratch. I can get whatever platform the group uses, as long as it's compatible with Mac. I like the original, traditional D&D using the 'Advanced Dungeons and Dragons' book sets. I used to own the MM 1&2, '79 DM Guide, FF, AD&D Player Handbook. I DM'd for friends for a while. I wasn't a rule stickler as a DM and focused on making the campaign challenging but fun. I played video games intensely for a while but now have carpel tunnel type issues and am looking to enjoy D&D group play again without pushing the fire button repeatedly. I'm ready to play 2-4 hours a couple times a week or so. I generally stay up until 1 or 2am Central Time Zone in US. I'm retired at 62. I'm generally pretty smart. Medium Smart? Have a dry sarcastic sense of humor, I like people of all ages. Creative OOTB thinker. Laid back, adaptable type person. Degree in Biomedical Engineering and worked in biomedical electronics research. Computer programming. Electronics Technician. Was teaching in IT, and working in IT, but also do many types of hobby arts like drawing, painting, stained glass. Jack of all trades, master of none. Fav films LOTR, and many Sci-Fi, horror, thrillers. Trek, Star Wars, XFiles, MST3K and lately... Severance. My favorite podcast ids Fake Doctors Real Friends with Zach and Donald (Scrubs TV stars). Looking forward to playing with any group that is ready to have fun challenges. I'm not sure if I'd be too good at 'play acting' but I did stay at a Holiday Inn express last night, so you never know.

Fantastic GM! I hadn't played D&D in over 30 years and this Game Master made me feel welcome, despite being a "newish player or a boomer" He patiently explained rules when needed without making anyone feel dumb. The NPC voices are great; each character feels distinct and alive. RP is great! The storytelling is creative, with twists and details I never saw coming. Everything feels coherent and fair. He handles unexpected party choices seamlessly and adapts so well we don't even know the party was off the rails. The descriptions are vivid and immersive. The regular and custom maps he creates are beautiful and very helpful for visualizing battles and locations. It gives that old table top feeling. Whether you're new or not doesn't matter. This GM is a good choice. They strike a good balance between narrative and letting players drive the story. The battles are as challenging as the party negotiates before starting. We chose to have it be hard and only be warned if a TPK was very likely.
