About me
I played a very homebrewed version of D&D back in high school. Then life happened. Family happened. Aging happened (rude). Fast-forward: my daughters moved out, and suddenly TTRPGs crept back into my life like an old quest giver I forgot to talk to. For years I have been less “player” and more “collector of cool rulebooks I swore I’d play someday.” Now that I’ve found StartPlaying, 2026 is my montage year: playing as many systems as possible, checking off decades-old curiosities, and eventually, stepping behind the screen to GM a session. Final boss: becoming the GM I always meant to be. 🎲😄

GM Dan

First time playing Vaesen and i am glad Dan was my GM. He did a great job teaching the system. and always was open to my many questions. And made me feel at home at the table. Even though Vaesen is a whole different animal of a system than i am use to. With Dan at the helm i didn't feel nervous or anxious that i was going to mess anything up. i would recommend GM Dan to any of my friends and hope to play with him again soon.

Best experience i have had on Startplaying was with Luke. Learning Daggerheart in a one-shot with him. I highly recommend checking out games he is running. He really makes you feel like your just playing with a friend you've known for a long time.

My very first game on StartPlaying was with Dom, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the platform. He’s an excellent GM and an even better person, right from the start, he made me feel welcomed and relaxed, like I was gaming with a group of friends. Any nerves I had going in completely disappeared within minutes. I had never played Knave before and only had a very bare-bones understanding of the system, but Dom was incredibly patient and clear in explaining things as we went. He’s a fantastic teacher who makes learning a new system feel easy and fun. I had a great experience and would happily play in one of his games again.
